I felt at home as soon as I walked in the door. I'd chosen this B&B for it's ease of getting to Optus Stadium having travelled from Melbourne for an AFL game. 350 metres from the direct bus and 700 metres from the direct train station. Victoria Park's main shopping and restaurant ***** is a block behind Durham Lodge, the local supermarket is an easy walk away, so if you've forgotten to pack something or want a variety of cuisines for lunch or dinner you've picked the perfect location. Durham Lodge provides an excellent continental breaksfast with a variety of cereals, juices, yoghurts, breads, condiments, teas and a Nespresso machine. Fresh fruit is also available. Guests can access the beverages at any time. There is a large lounge with a huge television and board games for guests to play. I had booked the Deluxe Queen Suite for 4 nights as it has its own private courtyard which I thought I might use but the weather during my stay didn't allow it. The bathroom has an enormous walk-in shower, large vanity with plenty of drawers and a cupboard for my toiletries, and a heating lamp in the light/fan combo. The bed was super comfy with excellent quality linen and 4 pillows. There was a large wardrobe with hangers, a luggage rack (although there was already one in the room), an iron and ironing board. I had a small fridge with tea and coffee making facilites although I used the kettle out i the lounge area mostly. Rooms also have their own split system so you can have your room at your desired temperature. Maurice is an exceptional host ably assisted by the delightful Millie, his dog, who would run to greet me when I returned from my adventures. Maurice was attending the same football match as me so led me to the bus stop to use and gave me excellent directions on how to return home. His property is very secure and even though it's on a main road, the double glazed windows eliminated any road noise. I found everything to be spotless and absolutely perfect. I will definitely return to stay here when I next venture across for an AFL match or even an AFLW game as Durham Lodge is also walking distance from Mineral Resources Park.

Great location, friendly staff. Met our expectations. Decor is a little dated and old and the hotel restaurant and bar were closed for renovation which is a pity, but the hotel was convenient to walk to food outlets, trains and attractions.

Excellent hotel and amenities. Great food, and bonus sparkling wine and chocolate for my partner’s birthday.

Booked 3 villas for two nights for $3000 for our wedding. 2 of the villas had a pest control problem with ants, spiders and bugs everywhere including on the beds. Worm in the shower when we arrived. All 3 villas old and not well maintained and far away from the actual resort. One family member awoke to her white pants completely black, covered in ants and bites on my wedding day. My fiance/now husband spent our wedding morning trying to sort that out with the reception, and getting them moved to a different villa, which happened to be further away and less convenient. Reception wanted to send in pest control people into my villa whilst I was getting ready for my wedding, my husband forbade them from interrupting us when trying to get ready. So spent our wedding night flicking ants off the bed. Very romantic. Avoid at all costs, gross and so not worth ask the money we paid. Reception did not compensate us at all, or offer anything for our disgusting experience.

The European Hotel retains much of its distinctive style but it IS different under the new management. Miss Maud is on an extended break but it looks like the wonderful buffet cafe/restaurant on the corner has gone forever. There is a small coffee shop as part of the complex. We were disappointed with the service. Offerings were fairly limited and not cheap. But there are other options nearby. The hotel is now more Eurasian. There is nothing wrong with that of course. Staff at reception are professional but can be curt at times. I endorse the comment of the reviewer who mentioned information about wifi and password was not freely given at check-in. Having said that, the free wifi was very good. Room was as we expected. Comfortable but the airconditioning took a little while to get used to. The hotel is an easy walk from Perth railway station so it is convenient for people using the new (October 2022) airport line. Public bus services pass close by. Many businesses in the area have closed down but the hotel surroundings are generally safe. However, some patrons may feel a little uneasy about some of the local street and homeless people.

Really best Apartment for backpacking and I really enjoy the vibes, the air, the environment and the people especially the front office named Angelica se for all about or needs

I really don’t like writing bad reviews but this place just doesn’t deserve a great rating. The location is good and the rooms a big. I did get an upgrade to a suite, but everything is very dated. On my window, they had masking tape which I suspect was to avoid wind whistling through. That’s not a really great look though. Check in was a disaster. Admittedly it was Friday evening and there was a lot of people arriving for the weekend, but clearly they weren’t planning their staff needs properly and it was ridiculous. Not only that, but their EFTPOS machine was not working so you had to fill-in a paper sheet. I get technology goes down, but honestly that was just bad. To be fair I was not feeling well when I arrived, so the whole thing just seemed a lot worse than it probably was and the staff were actually quite nice, despite the fact that they were clueless. I had sent a message to the hotel prior to arriving with a couple of specific requests, which they did the absolute opposite of which just made me laugh. They weren’t a big deal, but it’s the little things that count, especially when you’re a diamond member of their loyalty program. I think the place just needs a freshen up and the staff need to get plugged in. I wasn’t actually going to even write a review, but what pushed me over the edge was when I turned on the shower and watched a whole pile of hair swirling around in the bottom of the shower stall.
