England Marina Club Hotel

I stayed for two nights, and didn't get much sleep either night. This is honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, no exaggeration. The bathroom light wouldn't turn off, and it had a glass door that let light through, which then reflected off a sparkling gold-patterned wall – who needs a light on when they're trying to sleep? The soundproofing was absolutely terrible, bad in every single way. You could hear the water running when the next-door neighbors showered, the sound of the toilet flushing, and the sink running – you heard everything. I even heard the very noisy guests next door talking, and people talking in the hallway. How can a hotel be so full of flaws?! The only positives were that it was newly renovated and the location was decent. If Macau hotels weren't so ridiculously expensive on weekends, I would never have paid over 1000 a night to stay here!! The room's air conditioning didn't provide heat, though you could request a space heater. The showerhead angle wasn't adjustable, so you had to keep shifting yourself around to get wet – what a bizarre design! So many complaints, it was truly awful!

The hotel boasts exquisite and compact decor, with large French windows offering great views. It's a 15-minute walk to Rua do Cunha and just across the road from Galaxy Hotel.
