金普頓喬治酒店(Kimpton George Hotel, an IHG Hotel)

Loved this hotel - I highly recommend it! It is located close to all the major tourist sites in DC - literally blocks away from the US Capitol. It's also only two blocks away from Union Station, so if you're coming in from Amtrak or Metro, it's very convenient. The staff is also incredibly kind and accommodating.

I liked the people who work there. I liked my room, large bathroom and overall condition and look of the room. I liked Bistro Bis. I did not like the way the hallways look. They feel a bit old and dated and even dirty - which I'm sure they aren't. Overall, a very nice stay.

Location was good - close to the Capital and Union Station. Beware the $30/day “Guest Amenity Fee” + $5/day “Guest Amenity Fee Tax” that is not included in the online reservation cost, and was an unpleasant surprise upon checkout. Also, parking is $55/night if you use their valet, but there is a lot across the street that is cheaper.

The room we received had the feel of a place that may have been nice 10 years ago and hasn’t been well maintained. We had the two Queen sofa bed room because we were traveling with our teens. I was expecting the room to be small, but I wasn’t expecting extreme disrepair. The closet door did not stay closed on its own. The bathroom door was a poorly functioning barn-style door that gapped and didn’t have any kind of latching or locking mechanism (it also is a full length sheet of frosted glass). If you used the warm or hot water at all within the hour, you couldn’t get cold water to come out of the room’s only sink. There was no fan in the bathroom so the only ventilation option was to open the window that had NO SCREEN. The blanket for the pull-out had holes. Speaking of, the pull-out was uncomfortable to the point of being unusable. There was a piece of molding just laying in the hallway. None of the lamps (the only source of light) were plugged in when we arrived. I had to hand tighten the lone towel hook in the bathroom because it was so loose it couldn’t hold a towel. And to top it off, as we were leaving we found out about many amenities that weren’t shared with us when we arrived nor was there any literature (or QR code) about the property/amenities in the room (we searched all the drawers/cabinets). The location was great and there’s a great Irish pub around the corner, but I would not stay here again.

The Kimpton George is an excellent choice for the DC area. It is close to the Capital, Union Station and many attractions. The hotel is clean and quiet, offers many amenities. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful.

Room was small but nice. Beds comfortable. Great location for use of Amtrak, buses, metro and the circulator which was very helpful. Would recommend.

I used to really like this hotel but someone took their eye off the ball here. From ambivalent front desk staff to a restaurant with what seemed to be non-functioning heat on multiple visits to pillows that felt like they were made of packing peanuts it’s just no clicking at all, which is sad. It wasn’t a terrible visit, just deeply mediocre which has not been my experience on previous occasions here at all.

Staff very attentive, from the bar to the reception desk to the cleaners. Very impressed with the service and would stay here again.

This hotel overcharged us by more than $100 compared to what we were supposed to pay with *******. Additionally, the incidental charge was never refunded for no reason. I will file a fraudulent claim with my credit card company.
