Second time visiting as my girlfriends and I have turned our visit into an annual winter getaway at the Mayflower. Small in scale which is part of its charm, the inn is spread across 5 buildings which make you truly feel like you are in the country. Rooms aren’t your cookie cutter, square boxes but all unique in architecture and decor adding to the appeal. Very well appointed you are welcomed with a handful of goodies to enjoy during your stay which is a nice touch. The spa is worth a visit itself. Full of amenities including pool, spa, outdoor sauna, and beautiful relaxation room overlooking a meadow and a field it’s easy to spend the day there - which we did. Services were fantastic with a nice range to chose from, making you feel fully relaxed. Breakfast was very good again with an array of options to chose from. Each dish had a slightly unique twist making the familiar just a bit more interesting. Dinner in their Tap Room needs a bit more work on the execution side. Some dishes were great others just ok. The staff is all welcoming and very friendly. All down to earth and made you feel happy to be there. We only ran into one front staff person who on the occasions we ran into them always seemed completely overwhelmed and not very in control. For a hotel of this character was surprised to see this, but that was overlooked given the rest of the experience.

Our wedding weekend was completely ruined by the event manager’s (James R.) gross incompetence, lack of professionalism, and outright disrespect. From the planning stages to the event itself and even after, everything was mishandled. The tasting menu wasn’t rectified until the week of our wedding, leaving us stressed and scrambling. The in-room breakfast on our wedding day was appalling—stale bagels, gray lox, and a massive bowl of raw onions that left our bridal suite reeking. The dinner portions were far too large for a tasting menu, completely ignoring our request and leaving guests unable to finish the six courses. We had confirmed late check-out in writing for all guests, yet James failed to deliver, forcing family members to miss our farewell brunch. When I tried to address my concerns, James fled the property and later resorted to name-calling and ridiculing my family. This was supposed to be the happiest weekend of our lives, but James’s unprofessionalism and blatant disregard for our requests turned it into a stressful and disappointing experience. Avoid at all costs if you want your event to go smoothly.

Had dinner in the “Tap” room. The name should be changed to the Terrible Room. The place is very pretty and the service was good. The food was inedible. The menu was absolutely a joke. Total ripoff! The drinks were worst than the food. Bloody Mary sent back and the martini was hardly chilled.

DISSAPOINTED DAY.! TWO Thumbs way DOWN -NEVER RETURN-:( Weve dined and stayed here numerous times. Today, we drove all the way up from Westchester just to have an enjoyable hi-end lunch w/ the wife. What a massive surprise! Awful lunch w/ lady named Samanatha -as our server. ( if you could call her server - since she did nothing) but never returned to us after taking our order. Never checked on us, never did a single bloody thing/ Outrageous. 45 minutes we waited for our omelets. 45 minutes w/3 diners in the 90-degree restaurant. Note: Samantha you are fired. ! Also- Forgot the sourdough breads I ordered, but charged me anyway, (2.00 for toast!) I had to have another server to assist us after our waiting 45 minutes for our order wit only 3 other diners in house. Terrible service in overheated dining room-asked temp to be turned up 2x -I had to get out of my seat to ask as no one came to our table to look after us. We saw the server walk by to the bar several times without even- looking- at- After she took the order and after that was missing for 30 minutes( prob takin a break and forgot to put in our order) My wife was very upset-as this charade continued. Do not waste your time & money -very sad indeed. Nicest part of today was leaving (the valet man was super) Rose was ok.
