We LOVE Spruce Hill and don't understand the negative reviews! We had the time of our lives and could not believe we could walk right up to the skiing hills, our dream come true! I do highly recommend the manor if you can swing it, between that and the heart tree, we felt like we were in a different time and place entirely. Cannot recommend enough!!! The owners were incredibly kind too!!

Mid-Ohio getaway. Weekend getaway with family. Nice accommodation to spend together while being at Motorcycle Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio.

Did not stay!!! Nothing was as the website showed. Very trashy place.

Comfy but dated The property was overall worn down but was very peaceful and quiet. Rooms were comfortable though small, especially with so many larger pieces of furniture it was difficult to find places for luggage. We also had an ant issue in our cabin. Checking in was confusing since there was no front desk or office and ended up having to call the number. My cell service was spotty so this was stressful as noone picked up the first time.

Please update we loved this but now do not. This was our 2nd time at this property and a different cabin. Unimpressed. First time we loved it. This time our key was not in our room so had to wait until the next day. Our heater ran non stop so our room was HOT. The thermostat obviously didn’t work. The person staying in the other side was knocking on the wall at 2am so I thought someone was in our room. We left at 3:30 am 2nd night because it was so noisy and uncomfortably HOT. I didn’t say anything because it was 2am and I wasn’t bugging someone in the middle of the night as I was leaving for that very reason. Just a weird stay. It desperately needs updated. Just not what I expected.

The description of the place is upscale, but that must have been 20-30 years ago. My husband surprised me with a birthday getaway, and we sure were surprised with how shabby this place was. We literally almost left. It looks like people are living in most of the cottages, and we thought we were at the wrong place. Like all the other reviews, check-in was confusing. The room smelled strongly of extra-strength cat urine remover, but luckily we brought our own scented candles, and after airing the room for a few hours (some windows didn’t have any screens-thank god we didn’t bring our baby), it wasn’t so bad. Room definitely needed a deep cleaning- dead and alive spiders along the ceiling in the bathroom, tiles were cracked and broken around the jacuzzi tub, the lights and vent in the bathroom didn’t work. The room had WAY too much random furniture in it, making it an obstacle course, especially to get to the bed (which had springs sticking out the side). We had to ask for outdoor chairs around the fire pit, and there was wood debris from tearing down a deck, with nails sticking up. Our neighbors played loud music with vibrating base all night and day, and thier kids kept pestering us to let them join our fire. For what was supposed to be a relaxing birthday weekend away, it was not very relaxing at all. I’m sure this was a lovely place at one time, but that time is long gone. Just sad. We will not be back or recommend to others at all
