西德梅茵喜來登酒店(Sheraton West des Moines Hotel)

West Des Moines is the area of town to stay when visiting Des Moines. PSA, dont click on the $5.99/day internet - I did, it didn't work, so I tried again, still didn't work, so I gave up and accessed the internet on my phone hotspot. Was still charged $5.99, twice for the same day, for internet I couldn't and didn't access.

Book room with two double beds. Was given room with one bed. Drain fully plugged. Tub filled with water. They brought in a snake and augered the drain at 9 PM. Refrigerator unplugged. Room definitely not wirth the 228.00 I paid.

We received a room key and when we went to go in the room it was already occupied by someone else. We then went back to the front desk and were told that it didn’t show in their system that the room was occupied. We were then told that was the only room with a king bed so they had to give us a room with two double beds instead. We then went to the new room and one of the double beds in the room was not clean/made. Looked like someone had just rolled out of it. It was 11pm so we just slept on the other bed that looked made. Two days later I ended up with pink eye. I’m sure I got from that place. Do not recommend!

It was a nice stay, but double charged me. Normally I don't leave reviews like this, but I'm pissed. They said they had no record of me paying cash for my room, um look at the cameras duh. Then next day they charged my card a 155.68 dollars when I already paid and still haven't refunded me. They were hoping I'd hang up while being put on hold for 20 mins talking to the same person like are you serious? I just want my 155 back it's not that hard.

Overall it was a good hotel! The inside was absolutely beautiful. I loved the waterfall feature. I also loved the design of the hotel it was very bright and modern. You can absolutely see where the money is spent. In the lobby, and on the elevators and waterfall. One thing that could definitely use some updating was the bathroom. It did seem a bit dated. There wasn’t a bathroom vent to pull the moisture out, plus bathroom was very small. Also our tub didn’t drain very well. We didn’t have a microwave or fridge in our room either. The tv was also a bit small. We stayed 2 nights and it was $500. All things considered, I would say it was a bit overpriced for what we actually got.

Lots of construction going on at the hotel. Workers on partial roof right outside my hotel room window was awkward. If I was there for something other than a conference I would have asked to switch rooms. Also waterfall in lobby is very loud, especially annoying at night. Glad this time I had a room on the other side of hotel but have stayed in rooms directly behind it before and it keeps you awake

Room was terrible. Shower was dirty. Sheets were on inside out, which makes me think they didnt clean them, they just flipped them over . I would never stay here again.
