牧羊人武器酒店(Shepherds Arms Hotel)

Plusieurs problèmes dans cet hôtel sont venus compliquer notre passage. La chambre en soi était bien, cependant, la chambre de bain avait une douche où la peinture levait. L'absence de ventilation avait provoqué beaucoup de moisissures au plafond de la chambre de bain et le stationnement était très réduit. Les robinets étaient séparés, chaud et froid, rendant le lavage des mains désagréable. Il faudrait vraiment que les chambres de bain soient refaites. De plus, les planchers sont bruyants et l'hôtel insuffisamment insonorisé. L'accueil était déficient. Tout au long de notre séjour il n'y avait presque jamais personne à l'accueil et il fallait s'adresser au restaurant. Le stationnement était très petit. Même si on demande une arrivée tardive, personne n'est là pour nous accueillir.

Was over-charged for drinks in the bar, the owner is blatantly doing this to the customers and bill-padding ie. adding itmes you never ordered. Something you might see in a poorer country, yet bringing down the tone of Wellington. What a shame.

Maybe I should have read more reviews before booking… Starting with the positives: the hotel has undeniably a certain charm; staff was really helpful and friendly; the bed was clean and nicely done up; the location was perfect for the plans we had. But that’s where the positives ended for us: the bathroom window didn’t close, it was freezing cold the next morning after a night of minus temperatures; the toilet seat was extremely and visibly worn out; the bassin was broken on one side; there were spots that looked like mould; the windows in the bedroom were drafty with curtains which looked like never cleaned before (due to the cold I had to sleep with double layers of clothing). The furniture really visibly worn and old etc. The overall impression is that of a tired place in desperate need of refreshing and a proper clean up. In my view way too expensive ($140 for the night) for what was offered!

I think the room was undergoing some sort of refurbishment, but this wasn’t mentioned when booking. It was shabby, ceiling in bathroom was mouldy and peeling, bathroom door had writing on it and was dirty, and there were blue (full) laundry bags outside our room on arrival which were still there the next day. The room didn’t look the same as the picture. Sure it was cheap and you get what you pay for, but had no idea it would be as shabby as that. We’ve stayed here before and it was quite ok.

Ok, the pros… Awesome value for money in central Wellington. Bed was really comfortable and entire room was clean. Downstairs they had great food, big selection of drinks and a very cool pub atmosphere The cons You are sharing the toilet and bathroom with the entire floor not just next door room. I stayed ona Saturday night and the noise from sleeping above a bar wasn’t too bad, but you know what I mean. They say you have a carpark but it’s really if one’s available Would I stay there again…?. Absolutely

La camera era bella anche se vecchiotta, il letto comodo e super apprezzata la coperta riscaldata❤️ bagno ok doccia ok. Peccato per il wifi che fa davvero schifo e la reception mai aperta, noi l'abbiamo beccata per puro caso. Ha parcheggio incluso che è ottima cosa, però non molti posti. C'è anche ristorante in loco ma non l'abbiamo provato. Comodissimo per i ferry e anche per arrivare dal nord. Più scomodo per il centro, mezz'ora a piedi.

Great place. The boss made us feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Perfect room. Affordable, well positioned. We ate there after coming back hungry from the races. Lovely food. Awesome staff. Perfect!

Large friendly bar/restaurant area. Not a large menu but it covers most needs. Our beer drinker friend said that the selection of ales was goodStaff are efficient enough and helpful. Would certainly go back again. .

The hotel is definitely not boutique perhaps once upon a time it was but not today. Old tired smells and not worth the money paid. Not even given a small milk to go with the coffee station. Hotel in the name is misleading no service to speak of more a motel. Very hot in the room but had a fan so that ran all day. Checked in and never saw anyone again. A shame really it must have been lovely in its day but she looks and feels neglected today.
