夏山酒店(Summerhill House Hotel)

Shocking! Let down ! 9 of us book a hotel months and months ago - to arrive and say they haven’t got a room for any of us due to other guests deciding to stay another day - the best they could do was send 6 of us away to stay in another hotel separately! Offered us a complimentary drink which we ordered but had to wait for every other guest to be served - rude, unhelpful - now we have a party of 9 staying in two hotels - asked if we could have breakfast together … you guessed it … the answer was No! We booked this 4 months ago and told this on the day after hiking for 10 hours!! Not amused - please do not book with this hotel - or if you do - be prepared for a let down !

Very pretty converted large Victorian house. Rooms spacious and comfortably furnished in a traditional style. Large modern bathroom. Large car park and out door sitting spaces. Plenty of places to sit indoors too. Dinner was nice but a daily special would greatly enhance the menu. Breakfast had many choices and was constantly restocked. The terrace restaurant( no windows) was well decorated and used mirrors well to cover the fact it was a fully internal room . Easy walk in nice weather into village and to Powerscourt. Only bad thing was at the back of the hotel is some family accommodation . Permanent residents as We saw children being taken to school in the mornings. Both nights the non English speaking adults were socialising outside under our window and the laughter and talking went on to 11.30 pm. Luckily the second night it rained so they all went indoors by 10pm. It appears to be a regular occurrence so surely hotel management could ensure they are quiet by 10pm even on a nice evening.

I wouldnt stay in this hotel again although its in a beautiful location and the staff are lovely we had a two night stay there was no housekeeping for those two days we had to go looking for things we needed. There was no wifi connection for the tv. The food was just ok

War im Rahmen einer Rundreise zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel. Untergebracht in einem der Gästehäuser hinterm Hotel kann man sagen das die Zimmer mickrig klein sind ohne Möglichkeit der Kofferablage. Die Einrichtung ist ziemlich durchschnittlich. Die Doppelbetten nur allein ausreichend. Die Küche, Frühstück und Abendessen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung sehr freundlich.

Strange ending to an okay stay - do not recommend! My wife and I stayed at the property for 3 nights and overall, had a few things occurred. 1) They do not clean the room daily, which stinks if you are there for more than a night. 2) It was difficult to get items for our room. 3) BIGGEST ASPECT: They charged us for an extra night we did not stay! The front desk was incredibly difficult and claimed we had an extra night, even though we stayed/booked a night in Dublin for the night they charged us for. If my wife and I were not in such a rush, we would've stayed and fought it in person. Very unpleasant ending to this!

The hotel, wasn't cheap and I was told my room was across the courtyard in the Townhomes. This was a council house that was converted into hotel rooms. I would have stayed at home as it was a tiny room in a home where I couldn't hear everything from all the other guests. The shower was barely working. Not to mention there is a housing crisis in Ireland and hotels like this are buying government assistance homes and making huge profits from them.

Quaint main house lovely drive in - we stayed in small rooms to rear of main house they where dated freezing and not properly cleaned. The radiator in bathroom did not work was like an ice box. Small kitchenette but no kettle. Television was in small sitting area that was very uncomfortable and needs seriously updated. The upstairs residence returned in the early house of the morning (1.40)and we could hear their every move until they settled for night. Breakfast was cold when it arrived asked for it to be reheated but they simply forgot to bring it back then when it was replaced was cold - we where not the only people who where returning cold food. We should have requested a room change after first night and we informed the receptionist we where not happy with our stay and she was sorry - disappointing place.

Good staff service Limited dietary options- I have Coeliac Disease ( gluten free diet) . No gf canapés at wedding I attended - I had to request gf canapés even though I had ticked the gf box on wedding RSVP!

Lovely cosy beds. We were a party of three and had a room with three double beds. Lovely open fire in the drawing room which was nice to relax in after dinner. Lots of fresh flowers and candles in reception looked very welcoming.
