蒙泰德賓館(Moontide Riverside Lodge)

Die Lage am Fluss und am Ende einer Straße ist fantastisch. Garten, Terrasse, die Häuser und Räume mit Kunstgegenständen sind einzigartig. Die Natur mit den alten bizarr gewachsenen Bäumen sind überwältigend. Eine Morgenfahrt auf dem Fluss war ein Genuss. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hat uns mit ihrem Wissen rundum zufrieden gestellt.

Unterkunft mit super Service. Kanu-Nutzung incl. Sogar unser Mietwagen war am nächsten Morgen gewaschen. Personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück wird nach Wunsch zubereitet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ons 4e bezoek aan Wilderness, nu naar Moontibe. Ongedwongen, we waren met z’n 6’n , 3 huisjes, 2 superruim, een het tophuisje nieuw ingericht. Twee grote kamers wat vochtig, bedden redelijk goed, in tophuisje beste bed, wel wat krapper. Daar wel een perfect klein keukentje bij. We hebben de kano’s goed gebruikt. Ontbijt heel goed, maar of buiten met jas aan of op je kamer, de grote ontbijtruimte kon door de gasten helaas niet gebruikt worden en dat is in juli-augustus jammer. Wilderness heeft veel te bieden met Knysna en George om de hoek. Kortom aan te raden.

This is a pleasantly quirky hotel with rooms that are almost ‘Tree houses’. The rooms are compact, but also very comfortable and the amenities are very good. The location is superb and is where a river flows into the sea adjacent to the lovely town of ‘Wilderness’. Canoes are available to use on the river and a couple of miles upstream is a lovely walk to a beautiful waterfall.

Moontide - Unique, mystical, magical, uplifting with fabulous facilities catering for every need imaginable. Built on loving foundations and surroundings. An experience which will never be forgotten. Attention to detail, superb customer service, and care is at the very heart of Moontide. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to Maureen and her staff for making our stay enjoyable. We had heard of Moontide from friends. Bookings were done on their Website without any problems. We were welcomed as old friends and made comfortable Everything about the establishment was awesome We arrived as clients, welcomed as friends and we left after three days as family.

This was a second stay at Moontide Riverside Lodge and again we enjoyed the wonderful hospitality and peace at this well-appointed establishment. The location could not better with easy access to restaurants, superb beaches, Wilderness Village, George and Knysna. The river frontage provide access to swimming, canoeing and beautiful walks on the doorstep thus offering something for everyone in a peaceful and relaxing setting. The staff are extremely knowledgeable with regards activities offered in the area and they were helpful in planning and maximizing our holiday / sightseeing experience whenever needed. Thank you for a superb "break away" - we will be back again.

The setting is just lovely and the team can’t be faulted. Breakfast was also extremely good. Our room however was dark, cluttered and with a musty smell. The owner needs to recognise that their possessions, while interesting, don’t make for great interior furnishings - limited surface spaces, cramped room, no hanging or shelf space for clothing (despite an abundance of knee level chests, cupboards filled with stuff, etc). The garden is also a mess. While I appreciate the natural setting, the low branches and many potted plants just drown out light and warmth. Just declutter, cut back in the garden and embrace “less is more”.

Moontide is a serene, boutique guesthouse on the banks of the Touw River, which flows out into the sea. The higgledy piggledy rooms and units sprawl from the Boathouse, with its own platform and wood burner on the river to Treetops, literally in the boughs. It has been curated with love and heart. We stayed in Moonriver, a comfortable family apartment with a mezzanine twin platform for kids (which my son loved) and a kitchenette with fridge. Nice touches were the bottle of port and glasses, complimentary use of the Kayaks to use on the river and the excellent breakfast. Our room was really comfortable but a little on the dark side - it could use some additional lighting. The shower was hot and powerful and the river is glorious to swim in - shallow, clear and safe. Candi gave us absolutely excellent advice on activities and we made good use of it. Kayaking upriver to the waterfall - about 1 1/2 hours each way with a 45 minute ‘hike’ (on wooden boards) to the waterfall was a real highlight. The falls are beautiful but wear shoes with grip as rhe rocks and boulders there can be slippery. Also - take a picnic! Wilderness is a small, pleasant, boho town but it’s such a shame the beautiful beach with its powder white sand is divorced from the rest of the community by the highway. A lovely spot to rest a couple of days and chill on one of the platforms with sunbeds and watch the sunset.
