Die Lage des Seadragons ist phantastisch: Der Blick vom Restaurant auf die Bucht ist geradezu überwältigend. Die Kängurus laufen tatsächlich auf dem Hotelgelände umher und lassen einen auf 5-10 m nahe kommen. Höhepunkt unseres Aufenthaltes war der Ganztagesausflug zu den Highlights der Insel: Seelöwen aus der Nähe zu erleben, war sehr beeindruckend. Unser sympathischer Führer Paul erklärte uns dazu alles Wissenswerte. Das junge Team im Hotel ist äußerst freundlich und bemüht. Allerdings wurde ein gebuchter Ausflug schlichtweg vergessen und unsere Gruppe stand eine Stunde rum. Die Küche ist gut, wobei die Beilagen zumeist lauwarm bzw. kalt waren. Unser Zimmer wurde in den drei Tagen nur rudimentär gereinigt. Insgesamt ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt mit noch etwas Luft nach oben.

Posto incontaminato e magico. Casette panoramiche immerse nel verde dell’isola dove i protagonisti sono proprio i canguri! Un plauso va sicuramente ai gestori della struttura, disponibili, gentili e sempre pronti a risolvere i tuoi problemi.

Le plus bel endroit nature de notre séjour avec vue sur une petit plage en contrebas. Nous avons bénéficié d'une villa avec un salon donnant sur une terrasse vue mer, une belle cuisine équipée, une grande chambre lumineuse , une salle de bain à deux vasques avec toilettes séparées. Le luxe absolu en pleine nature avec en prime la proximité des kangourous le soir et le matin !!!

If you are going to Kangaroo Island and wish to stay at a lodge that with modern amenities, luxurious settings, and truly unbelievable views then you would choose Sea Dragon. The grounds are essentially your own private animal sanctuary filled with 400 kangaroos and a variety of birds that you can see and photograph up close and personal. Pink Bay which is the private beach on the grounds is beautiful. The view outside of the room is a million-dollar view. The dinners are absolutely wonderful and I do think those meals were the best I had during my time in Australia. I would rate the dinner meals on the same level as that of fine dining restaurants. I was very pleasantly surprised by that! The staff is extremely kind and gentle. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. It will be one of the main highlights of your time on kangaroo island. Don't forget to explore the grounds and see the kangaroos as you will never be that close on any tour.

The location is idyllic ...the accommodation is perfect and the food sensational...but what makes Sea Dragon the place you should have on your to-do list is the team who work at this truly special place. They go out of their way to make your visit unforgettable. We had the most amazing week. Thanks Karin Matt and all the team - you are all amazing!!!

Our ocean view villa (Banksia) was just outstanding. Large living room with beautiful and comfortable furniture (though lacking reading and table lamps), a full kitchen and great bedroom. We had a huge deck looking out over the water. And kangaroos everywhere! Just so much fun to watch them from the deck or on the way to the lodge for dinner. The deck had an outside bathtub which we didn’t use (in fact, it did face the walk down to the beach so I’m not sure how private it really was). But it looked cool. I am baffled as to why there are no photos of the villas on the website. In fact the website could really use a rework altogether. The staff in the dining room were lovely and the continental breakfast was very good (at least on 2 of the 3 mornings, on the 3rd by the time we arrived it had been fairly depleted and didn’t look like it was going to be replenished). Dinner was good but not outstanding. Also, the documents sent before arrival specify that dinner includes 2 courses, and if you want 3 courses you must pay an extra $25 per person. It gives samples of the 3 courses – sample entrees, sample mains, and sample desserts. We assumed it meant we could pick which 2 courses - we would have preferred entree and main - but in fact the standard menu is main and dessert. It wasn’t even clear that there were entrees if we had wanted to order one. Why not just clarify and say that dinner comes with a main course and a dessert and leave it at that? On the other side, the pre-arrival materials said that there would be no housekeeping unless we stayed 4 or more days or we requested it at an extra cost. We were fine without it, but were surprised that someone came in and tidied up each day. Again, the materials were a bit out of sync with the experience. We paid for a 3 night “experience” for $4,200. We probably should have booked the 3 night “self-drive” option that was available for $3,000 and tried to join the all day tour as an add-on cost which I assume would have cost less than $1,200 for the two of us. We had our own car so didn’t need the ferry pick-up and drop-off, but we did want the all-day tour which only seemed to be part of the “experience”. In any case, that all-day tour was excellent. Paul knows the island inside and out and was an excellent guide for the day. The half-day tour of local producers was not all that interesting, except for the gin tasting.

The most kind people doing their best to supply you with anything you want. They are renovating the place so sometimes you notice something not up to their standards as a poor wifi, but I'm sure that such things will be already better when you read this because the owners have only the intent to give you the best. If you are staying here, use their guides to explore the nature. This gives your start here the extra thing you are looking for. Enjoy their excellent food but do not hesitate to ask for anything you don't like because they go the extra mile for your comfort. If you hate kangaroos, don't go there. If you live them, don't go anywhere else.

Overpriced with limited choice for dinner. Room was never really cleaned bed was made that was it. I would have expected a clean room on return after a long day but was very disappointed. For $1000 plus a night was expecting better food. Breakfast was a cold buffet with limited hot food of scrabble eggs beans and bacon on all 3 days was cold. I would also say you definitely need a car unless you take the nature tour offered at a price from the hotel.

Beautiful remote location with stunning views of the ocean and wildlife. Modern self contained villas with decks to watch the kangaroos. Staff is mostly young friendly international people who did a great job. In particular Nicole and Annie were prompt in communicating with me and answering all my questions. Leo and Sarah were great. 3 out of 4 dinner meals were wonderful-1 was good but not hot. Breakfast was good with lots of choices and fresh fruit. A curtain is needed for Cabin 7 which only had sheer curtains. The included activities were enjoyed by all. But most of all, just enjoying nature and watching the wildlife from this magical location was super special and something I will never forget.

Words are not sufficient for this wonderful place. Firstly the welcome from Leo was wonderful. Secondly the staff who were all on short term stays were first class, we met Yas, Thomas, Zena and Finn who were all so helpful. Thirdly the food could grace a London Michelin star restaurant. This was all supervised by Jane the Chief Operations Manager(!). Finally the truly remarkable Adam who was the guide on the Nature Tour and made everything so interesting

As soon as we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. One side of the main restaurant and lobby offered breathtaking ocean views, while the other was filled with a lively group of kangaroos. The location is serene and perfect in every way. I particularly appreciated how native ingredients were creatively featured on the menu.

What a magical setting. Beautifully appointed en-suite room with stunning views to the bay and sea. Perched on the edge near cape Willoughby lighthouse. The grounds are stunning. Lots of wildlife to see. They catered well for gluten free. We stayed four nights, wasn’t long enough to fit everything in! Staff were helpful, owners regularly checked in. Would highly recommend

Beautiful location with stunning views allaround. A lot of kangaroos and other wildlife. Peaceful sanctuary to rest and recharge. Very helpful and friendly staff with good service.
