Great loction but no restaurant

We have stayed here a few times before as visitors to family who had been unwell recently. This stay unfortunately was for their funeral and we had attended that day & stayed one night. Everything was fine as we know the hotel until the morning of check out. We had breakfast & were sorting the car out as flowers in the boot from the funeral when suddenly a lady appeared & did not introduce herself just accused us of trying to possibly leave without paying! Her words were I’m not suggesting you were going to leave but I’m aware it’s happened before & I’m making sure! We were annoyed but understood why but she could have handled it much better. Also helps to know your guests & who have stayed beforehand. Maybe highlight this on the hotel CRM or system plus it was only one night..

Lovely, lovely staff. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The kitchen staff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was great, very tasty and plenty of it. The only downside is that they don't have a restaurant but there is plenty to choose from nearby. I would definitely recommend it and I would stay there again.

Why stay in a featureless chain hotel when little gems like this exist! A wonderful place right in the heart of the town with rooms that reflect the age, character and charms of this old building. Staff are wonderful and although there are no evening restaurant facilities, plenty of options for eating exist within easy walking distance. Will definitely be back again. Thank you!

The hotel is on the high street with loads of nice bars and restaurants immediately adjacent. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but in its place is a Pizza Express which gives a 20% discount to all hotel residents. The sloppy Giuseppe was amazing🙂 The small room (No3) I had was accessed directly from the car park and a cut through from the high street which was fine however I can only imagine how stuffy the room would be on a warm night in the summer. I wasn’t comfortable with the thought of leaving the window open through the night when anyone could walk past. Breakfast was delicious and well worth the £10.50 and the room and shower were great.

Staff were so helpful, the sat nav didn’t pick up correctly but we rang the hotel and they talked us through directions exactly, the room was amazing, clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend

Checking in was quick. Room clean. There was something for everyone at Breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Clean room - ground floor was perfect. Excellent location with safe parking in the town centre close to all amenities. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Already have another stay booked!!
