米爾伍德鄉村別墅酒店(Merewood Country House Hotel)

This is our first trip in there. It’s amazing as well, next time we must reserve it again

We have just returned from a 3 night stay for our anniversary. Beutiful building grounds well looked after. Great parking facilities, great location Staff are warm and welcoming and certainly not stuffy which is sometimes a problem when staying in a country house. Bar is superb beautifully decorated comfy with a lovely open fire crackling away. Our room, room 1 is a four poster room with views of the mere lovely old room not best location directly adjacent to stairs but none the less we loved it. Food we ate at the hotel on 2 evenings in both restaurants and the food is fantastic not a huge menu but something for everyone. Breakfast was great and we ate alone every morning 🙈🙈 due to being early risers. Location is also great bus stop at end of driveway so gateway to the lake district at your door we parked the car up when we arrived and never used it the rest of the time. The beutiful Highland cows at the end of the drive is a lovely welcome and we stopped by daily for a chat. All in all we had a great warm stay with lovely welcoming staff great food and drinks within lovely surroundings we will be back.

We have just returned from a fabulous 4 night stay at Merewood. We have stayed previously and this stay was even better than previous. We were lucky to get the large front bedroom on an offer which proved to be fantastic value for money. Room 5 Tennyson is simply wonderful and huge. All our meals were great and the afternoon tea was the best we have had and believe me, we have had many afternoon teas. Tasting menu fabulous too. Great selection of hot options at breakfast although buffet limited in my view. Special thanks to Joyce on reception who assisted me with the booking. Very friendly and provides excellent service. I would highly recommend Merewood Hotel and we will definitely return.

WHERE DO I START .........UPON ARRIVAL WE WERE JUST IN AWE OF THIS PLACE AND STAFF ....EVERYTHING FOR OUR ELOPMENT WEDDING WAS JUST PERFECT .........THE HOUSE IS JUST STUNNING ..THE BRIDAL SUITE IS PHENOMENAL AND SO ARE THE STAFF ........OUR WEDDING WENT SO SMOOTH ....I REALLY REALLY WOULD RECOMMEND....ITS JUST STUNNING ..THE VIEWS OF THE GREAT LAKES ..THE BOAT RIDE IS AMAZING......... THE FOOD IS SUPERB ....... ABSOLUTELY 5 STAR 🌟 🤩 ✨️ 😍

Myself and my wife both wonder what is going on here, if there has been a management change or some issues?... We have stayed on a number of occasions before and had a great time, but the treat for my wife turned out to be somewhat of a let down...I booked a superior lake view room which turned out to have one smallish window, was dark, and looked like an oversized box room. The pleasant girl on reception checked that she could move us, and she did to a larger room with better views, but it was decidedly cold, and took some time to heat up...In fact there was only one lounge with a fire in it, and the bar was cold as well... We ordered two drinks which came to £14.00 which we thought was very steep, a larger and small Gin..Perhaps its just us. The glass of wine with dinner for my wife was £11.50 and the they have the cheek to add a bar service charge on top !!.... Anyway, we booked in the Arboreal restaurant which we have thoroughly enjoyed before on previous visits. This did not disappoint, the food is great, but they seem short staffed so service was slow. The big shock were the portions...Yes, its a tasting menu, but the whole 6 courses and the snacks could have fitted on one dinner plate...The venison main meat portion was less than the size of a match box!!... Don't know if they are cutting back or not, but this spoiled the evening. We slept OK, and breakfast was fine, again with pleasant staff....Don't know if its a one off, but I don't think we shall return again until they start giving better value for money and put some heating on in the winter!

My wife and I stayed here for the first time on our way to Scotland. The hotel is fantastic from the outside. Out room as a little dated and could have done with being re-decorated. However, the stay was nice, and the staff were great, even allowing us to get into the room early without asking. The food in the restaurant (chicken and chips) was OK but a bit greasy. The views from our room were fantastic, (see photos). We would stay here again.

我去旅遊的時候住在那裡，我和我的旅伴對建築內部的精美印象深刻，看起來就像一座貴族宅邸。房間寬敞乾淨，床很舒服，我能夠非常放鬆。浴缸的熱水量和蓮蓬頭的力道都不錯，能夠緩解旅程的疲勞。早餐和晚餐的食物都很美味。餐廳裡的酒吧？在那裡，我們各點了一杯飲料，氣氛十分熱鬧。啤酒很好喝~(^^♪ 工作人員很友善熱情，住得很愉快。謝謝你們給了我湖區美好的回憶！
