Pros: Location, just up from centre Price, one of cheapest in area Reception staff behind bar, very receptive and nice on check in. Check out very easy. Managed to park for free just up road and down side road on the right (beresford Rd) Cons: Noise from other rooms, could literally hear them talking. Bathroom, tired and plastic, bit like a tired caravan bathroom. Even the walls were plastic. Plastic shelf was even loose above sink. Bedding sheets had a plastic feel about them. Door not very secure, just a yale lock, gap round edge of door. Wouldn't stay again but with great staff and location a bit of investment in rooms would change it massively. Didn't try the bar or restaurant so can't comment on that.

I booked a table in Oct for a family group of 10 for 5.30 on New Year’s Eve upon arrival was told we should have been there for 4.30 even tho i had proof of time of booking the food arrived at six twenty and at twenty to seven the waitresses kept coming and watching us we felt very uncomfortable and at ten to seven they told us we had ten mins to finish we had to leave our drinks it was an awful experience I would never go there again it spoilt our new year celebration do not go here

Hi, there are lots of restaurants in Bowness but the Westmorland is more than a pub/Hotel. We had a great meal on Wednesday and are going back tonight The menu is more varied than most and better value. Quality is not compromised Tarl looked after us and was the perfect host Thanks

Stayed for 2 nights, accommodation average, room/bathroom very tired and in need of updating. Public areas, ie bar and dining room were fine, evening meal was excellent with a good menu available. Staff were most welcoming especially Tarl who couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely use the pub/eating facilities again but not the accommodation.

The restaurant was lovely but the staff are really lovely, Tarl served us and he’s brilliant, we felt like we were being welcomed into his home and that’s also what the food is like excellent home cooked dinner. I had the steak pie which was great and my husband had the Fish pie. Such brilliant value for money. Also good wine served in a lovely glass!!

We had an evening meal here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pub is cosy and welcoming, and the staff were very helpful. The food was delicious and well priced. The menu is varied and there is a specials board to look at too. Would definitely recommend eating here.

We had a 2 night stay here whilst we enjoyed Bowness. The room - I think it was room 5 is a little small but a comfortable double. The ensuite was average - but does need updating. It was a fight to get in the shower cubicle as the door to the cubicle was stuck and the shower had no power whatsoever so took an age to feel clean. Definitely needs an upgrade The bar and restaurant areas were lovely and staff very helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious.

Lovely pub, fantastic music and atmosphere. Good food, good service especially Amie, James and Kaydi all friendly , helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Cannot recommend highly enough. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed just one night here and the staff behind the bar (the same staff who check you in to your room) were incredibly rude and acted as if we were an inconvenience to them. They were very unhelpful with very basic queries, such as what time check out was, taxi ordering etc. The bar was not busy at the time. I also witnessed them being very unhelpful to punters that had come in for food. The housekeeper, Jan, was the exception, she was very lovely.
