We stayed overnight and had a reunion drink in the hall at back of the pub. As usual the Trooper covered all our expectations with the accommodation very comfortable, adequate and the perfect ‘can do’ hosting at our do. The Trooper is a short walk from town centre and parking is a little issue but not a major inconvenience as there are parking spots close by. As an ex- Windsor resident it will always be my go- place and there plenty of places to go to for breakfast nearby. Top marks from me, thank you James and team and see you again soon

Great little hotel in the heart of Windsor. The rooms are small & pretty basic but they’ve got all the important things right. The bedding & towels were clean & fresh, the bathroom was clean with all facilities working. There was coffee/tea/hairdryer/extra pillows etc The staff were helpful & welcoming. The pub is cosy with a log fire and only a 10 min walk from the castle There’s a few pubs close by but plenty more places to eat and drink as you get closer to the castle. We went as 4 friends sharing a twin & a double and couldn’t fault it for the money. We stayed in the room right above and couldn’t hardly hear the pub downstairs.

We hired the backroom for my daughters 21st birthday. Amazing from start to finish. All the staff were fantastic the food supplied was great lots of it at a good price. Couldn't have got a better place to hold party it was just perfect for what we needed. We was allowed to decorate Hall in the day and clear the next day. The brilliant staff had cleared so didn't need to go and tidy THANKU THANKU THANKU

This place is in a great location with excellent hosts. The room was quirky but very comfortable and had all the necessary accommpimenets and despite being by the pub, very quiet. The pub itself is very popular and the drinks are reasonably priced with a number of real ales and ciders; even better if you're a CAMRA member!! One of the best things here is the support for local independent businesses, with a coffee and light snack provider in the mornings and various food suppliers in the evenings; the pizza van is reasonably priced and highly recommended. Thursday evening was heaving with superb music from a solo artist.

We had a brilliant stay at the Windsor Trooper. 4 of us shared a family sized room which a great size. There was a double bed, single and a put up bed. All very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. The pub itself is nice, and the rooms are adjacent to the garden in a separate building. We returned to our room at 10pm after eating out, and there was no noise from the pub or garden. The pub offers a great location to explore all of Windsor.

Stayed for 1 night in one of these rooms - never again. Very uncomfortable beds, dusty cushions ( not needed as there is no where to sit). Shower head dirty & so water only trickled out. So bad we left early hours of the morning. Only writing this so that no one else has to suffer

What a let down. After hearing many mixed reviews about this pub, we decided to visit as they had a band night on the night we went. The band wasn’t great to be honest, and the room was unbearably hot, but it was the chaos of the bar people that put us off. The ladies toilets were just disgusting. I had also asked for more loo roll for the ladies and the bar man rolled his eyes at me! We won’t return and definitely wouldn’t recommend. Much better bars in Windsor!!

We stayed for three nights and my only complaint was the mattress as I suffer from back problems. (I felt the springs, and it was soft) My wife who doesn't suffer from back problems felt the mattress was fine. Good pub for your night cap before you retire to your room.

Popped in for a look. £11.75 for a pint of bitter and a half of Staropramen. That was after being overlooked at the bar when the person behind me was served first. Unimpressed, to say the least. Best avoided.

Fantastic roast! Definitely the best in Windsor; wonderful food from Leona and the team. Lovely atmosphere and great choice of drinks from the pub team. The selection of different vegetables was very interesting and diverse and really complemented the beautifully cooked meats. Excellent desserts and would 100% recommend!

We used this venue for my sons christening. They couldn’t have been more helpful and made everything incredibly easy for us on what could have been a very stressful day. Leona and Byron from Leonas bespoke catering provided a delicious buffet which again - was easy to organise and there was a huge variety. Highly recommend. Delicious. Friends and family had a brilliant day. Thank you! Xxx

Great place. Stayed here for one night with my wife. Room was very clean and tidy. The people were very friendly and the pub itself has a lovely beer garden. I would highly recommend this place for a short stay and would definitely stay here again !

Stayed here one night Easter Monday. The double room is small and basic but absolutely spotless clean. Everything you need, en suite, tea and coffee and TV. The pub was busy and buzzing right up till closing time. Good friendly service , will definitely stay again for a one night stopover.

Family Sunday lunch; as usual, Best Roast in Windsor! Fabulous food, thoughtfully put together, interesting choices and properly seasoned. Loads of choice, wonderful staff and great sized portions; definitely good value. Would 100% recommend.

Stayed here for a Saturday evening late November. Helpful staff went through the check in process with us. We had a large double room facing the road. Bed very comfortable and clean bedding and towels provided. Decent range of tea and coffee supplied including decaf. We did hear the other guests returning as it echoed in the hall way but didn’t really disturb us. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub other than a few people chatting as they left. Only negatives which I think the owners could consider sorting is hanging black out curtains at the window and we also only had one bedside table. We didn’t eat in the pub itself but there is a good range of drinks at the bar and the staff were very helpful. No parking but we knew that before booking. Parking is behind the college and around £12 a day and staff explained the system there. Would recommend
