3rd time we tried to play the course and have never finished a round, twice the course should never have been open, walked off due to the course being absolutely soaked. The last time we turned up with high expectations, how wrong we were, arrived and we were surprised to see that the car park was almost empty, and it was a lovely warm sunny day. The fairways were cut to high and there was dead grass everywhere, hadn't been collected. The walk way's were awful, the hole marker board's haven't seen a lick of paint for a very long time. We all lost a few balls in the fairways, disgraceful situation. We walked off after 13 hole's. Thankfully we only paid £20, but still certainly not worth the money. The course could be very good with some TLC. We went for a drink in the bar and had to tell the barman how to pour the drinks. All in all a very disappointing day.

Dreadful from start to finish. You get the feeling the owners are looking to sell and in the interim are running it into the ground. Service poor, food poor, no beer at the bar, golf course average, receptionist doubling up as barman for most of the day etc etc. Only one shower and soap dispenser worked in the spa. The shower in my room didn't work at all. The carpets and bed didn't look clean. Everything was threadbare and badly needing updating. Give Fawlty Towers a go before this one!

We loved the stay here. I loved the way staff is treated us and our baby Ram. We are truly thankful for your service and love. We had such a pleasant stay ! Big thank you to Bhushan, Vijay who assisted from the beginning until end of the stay and during the stay thanks to the Kiran and Vinil for their hospitality ! Excellent service in the restaurant by Kiran, above and beyond always with a cheerful smile! Here for a few days demonstrating at Wiltshire Game & Country Festival at Bowood near Calne. I look forward to checking out the golf, pool and gym tomorrow...

Well, luckily I didn't read the reviews before my trip. I spent 3 days and 2 nights at this hotel and played 3 games of golf. I cannot fault the hotel. Yes, you can see they are tidying up the venue and are serious about it! No disruption to me though. The staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. The twin room was very clean, linen changed every day and very comfortable. The breakfast provided was very good as were the evening meals. All I can say is that I am going back later in the year! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I wish the owners the very best of luck with their business - they deserve it.

This hotel is a disgrace. It cost £115 and wasn’t worth half of that. The rooms were so dated and worn out. There were holes in the curtains, stains on the floor. No sound proofing. Breakfast was a joke with no choice. The only buffet was 4 cereals. No sauces with the cups. There were still Christmas decorations up I would never stay again, it felt like a prison

We came by accident, looking for a hotel close to Swindon to visit Air Tattoo. What a great surprise. The staff is more than helpful and doing their very best to make you feel at home. In the restaurant we were served by Kiran, who was extremely profesional and courteous. Overall, a nice surprise!!!.

A modest hotel with much to be modest about. Once it might have been a satisfactory golfing resort but that was 30+ years ago. It has an unloved air, is scruffy and uncared for. Room was adequate but nothing more - very flat pillows. Very poor soundproofing - conversations from elsewhere can be heard in the room. Breakfast was a cheerless DIY affair in a small area of the restaurant - offering long made coffee, hot water in a flask for tea, a toaster and a poor selection on mini cereals. We were subsequently offered a ‘full English’ but declined. This place is OK for a one night stay when travelling - it is not a destination hotel.

Clearly going through a renovation but my stay was not disrupted, the gym had brand new state of the art equipment, Excellent size and highly recommended for an active gym goer!! The pool was large and very clean, Staff where super welcoming and very accommodating, There was a nice quiet area to work in the bar area amd food was excellent. In all an excellent stay 🙌

I am not one to do a bad review but in this case I really have no choice. This hotel is living on its past reputation when it was a 3 star hotel, golf and spa. Its website shows pictures and text from the previous owners when it was a family run hotel. This is NOT what it is today, and if you have booked because of the website you are going to be very disappointed. The only positive I can give it, is that when we eventually got a room that had been cleaned, the bedding and towels were spotless and the staff friendly and tried their best. But that is about all the good I can say. When we walked up to our room, we were struck by the stained and dirty carpeting on the stair ways. It was obvious that this had once been a fine hotel but the decor was dingy and desperately needed renewing. The room we were sent to was a disgrace, the room had not been cleaned or the bedding changed since its previous occupant had vacated the room. My husband went down to complain and were were sent to a different room. This had been cleaned, and the bathroom was sparkling but, like the communal areas, the bedroom area was tired and tatty. The trouser press was broken, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. The hairdryer worked but had a faulty switch. The hot towel rail worked but had black electrical tape wrapped around it. Most worrying was the PAT testing stickers, all for which were out of date Ranging for 2017 to November 2023) One of the bedside lamps had not been dusted and was missing a dust cover meaning there was big lump of dust and dirt within it. We ate in the restaurant the first night and the disapointment continued. The food was awful. My opinion is that these were frozen diners that had simply been reheated and whilst reasonably presented, there was no way they were worth what was being charged. We also had breakfast there and for a while I thought they might have redeemed themselves but whilst the choice and the quality was very good, the buffet food warmers were inadequate and the food was barely warm. I did NOT try the spa and pool because quite honestly I was so upset by this time I could not stand any further disappointment. The owners need to have a bit of honesty. They should renew their website and say that this is not the hotel it was and stop showing photo's from when it was a 3 star hotel and photos and stories from the previous owners. (I am assuming the golf course is still very good as it seemed to have a steady stream of golfers). They need at the very least to clean the carpets and prepare decent food if they wish people to stay more than a night or two.

Very poor. How anyone could find this even OK hasn't been in a hotel before. The room was very worn and not particularly clean. There was no hot water for the shower/bath so had to wash in the spa shower. Only one worked. The door deadlock didn't work. Only one soap dispenser in the spa was working the rest were broken. All the bag dispensers for wet costumes were empty. With regard to the food the menu was very basic and little choice. The breakfast wasn't bad, lunchtime sausage sandwich was dreadful and evening meal not good. There was no beer on draught. Stuck to cheap tasting cider. If you wanted to use the pool/spa you had to use the one towel you had from your room. Not enough staff even though there was hardly anyone in the hotel. Prepare to wait a long time for any service.

Congratulations on being the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The list is endless of flaws. Please ignore any renovation reviews; some new furniture has been purchased in the restaurant - and that’s as far as the compliments go. A group business booking for 6 rooms. ***** in bed. Boiling hot showers or freezing cold. No in between. Grubby cups. Lumpy gone off UHT milk. No remote for TV. Flat pillows. Uncleaned pebble dashed toilets. Hairy floors. Tripped electric. No aircon or airflow. Cheap mattresses. Grubby walls. And that’s just the rooms. The food was atrocious! £14 for ham egg & chips - cold packet ham! (See photo). Kitchen finished at 8.45pm, despite being 11pm online. One starter did not arrive - when challenged, the waiter said there was now no goats cheese left. When asked what other options were available - the waiter stated the kitchen was no closed and laughed at us. Downstairs female toilet near restaurant is a horror show (see photos). Reminds me of a derelict school toilet from 1980s. Wet Blue roll loose to dry hands. Gym - cleanest part of the hotel. Golf course looked pretty in the sunshine. This hotel genuinely is the worst I’ve ever stayed in. I was embarrassed for I make this corporate booking - this hotel genuinely needs bulldozing. It’s a joke & £680 completely wasted. This hotel is NOT a three or a two star hotel I would say it’s not even a 1 star and seriously needs shutting down.

Our 2 night stay was wonderful. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, the quality of the food was superb. We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and it was excellent, with all the amenities you would expect. There was so much space and with an excellent size bathroom with a shower.

Spent one night out of three booked. Got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. After the first night we checked out and still waiting for a refund four weeks later! The beer was off the food menu basic. We had breakfast but they had no menu. It was full English or bacon roll only. The continental breakfast bar was running with ants! Dreadful. Avoid at all costs!
