In summary: 1. Quiet, secluded lodging 2. Easy - and free- access to fishing pond when staying here 3. Well-furnished and well-appointed “tiny house” cottages 4. Fairly easy drive from Austin, ideal for a weekend getaway We chose to stay outside of Austin for part of our visit to the Austin area for chance to spend time outdoors and catch sight of the solar eclipse; but the weather was not very cooperative. We and our friends enjoyed our stays in these tiny homes. These were cozy but well-furnished. Just be sure to anticipate, plan and bring all the food supplies you need for your stay as there were no nearby grocery stores. Thebbeds were comfortable and we slept well. The small porch was a pleasant spot to enjoy the first cup of joe for the day while relaxing in the morning calm and listening to the birds. We do not fish but fish was included as part of the package when staying here. We did walk around the fish pond where we spotted double-crested cormorants, pied-billed grebe and American coot. The hosts were friendly, greeting us each time we drove in or out. They left a small container of 6 farm fresh eggs for us to savor in the fridge along with 4 bottles of water which we very much appreciated.
