Fantastic hotel really convenient and very Central. Very friendly staff. Great bar in a superb setting. Really feels at Market and luxurious. The bedrooms are a good size and shower. Hot and works fine. Highly recommended to start here. Here are some fabulous walks along the boat key and towards the harbour really worth going

Maybe we are just spoiled Danes, accustomed to stays at places like the 5-star Hotel Marienlyst in Helsingør and the fantastic 4-star Elite Hotel Savoy in Malmö. Compared to these, we apparently expected too much from the 4-star Continental Du Sud in Ystad. We booked an upgraded manor room. Yes, it was clean and "nice" :) But there was no real feeling of luxury :( No minibar, no water in the room, few bath products, no bathrobes or slippers, and the TV couldn't be adjusted to be viewed from the bed :( The bedside lamps were unintelligent, with tiny shelves where your phone, a glass of water, etc., would fall to the floor if you reached for something during the night. The worst part was the hotel's breakfast arrangement. We heard people talking about only being able to get a breakfast slot at 07.00 :) And it says on your breakfast booking ticket that if you snooze (oversleep), you lose (your right to breakfast). Come on, why should you have to get up at 06.00 on your vacation to get the breakfast you've already paid for :( That’s just ridiculous! We paid an extra 100 SEK to have it served in the room, so we could "afford" to sleep until 08.30 - Continental Du Sud, you can do better!!! We had a 3-course meal in the hotel's restaurant one evening and yes, there were side plates, but we were not served any bread to go with the meal, so what are we supposed to do with them??? We were promised coffee after the meal, but it was forgotten - We are not impressed and did not feel "at home". Continental Du Sud, you have room for improvement!

A lovely looking hotel with some good points but when you book a suite and the room isn’t cleaned properly then I’d say that it’s very poor . Neither bathroom has been cleaned , towels left where we left them , handbasins not touched along with the shower enclosure . The fruit bowel hadn’t been replenished or cleaned , basically the bed has been made but that’s about it . The bar / restaurant is nice and so are the staff , the food and drinks on offer are ok . In summary , don’t expect luxury …you’ll be disappointed .

From the very first step in this hotel you can feel the spirit of history. Marble stairs, carvings on the ceiling and stained glass windows shows that the Hotel have a really caring host. But the care is not only in the atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff will let you to enjoin your stay carefree. While staying in this hotel there is no need to search for restaurant as they have not only absolutely perfect breakfast but also offers incredibly delicious lunch and dinner in cozy and splendid restaurant. The regular room was spacious and well decorated, all that is need for the nice stay. Also the location is perfect, near train station and the art museum. Will choose this hotel for other trips to Ystad!

We loved traveling through Sweden, then to Denmark, then to Norway. Our inspiration for this trip was Henning Mankell's "Kurt Wallander" books and TV shows. We loved the hotel. We asked for a fan which made our room cooler. The service was wonderful, enjoyed our breakfasts, and the noise of the trains just added to the ambiance. We're used to that.

Really disappointed with overall experience. Room was hot and noisy on main highway and rail line with rail crossing ringing routinely. No air conditioning. Poor restaurant experience with uncomfortable seating and given menus in wrong language. Don’t have laundry done! Extremely expensive and given back totally wrinkled in wadded plastic bags. Terrible! Bad all around.

This is a nice looking, classic hotel very close to the train station and within walking distance of Ystad's city center. Everything, including the sea, is nearby. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, the curtains did block the early light in the morning. The bathroom was fine, with good hot water; it has been updated recently. The stairs and the stained glass windows there are just beautiful. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, thus, street noise, something other reviews complain about, was not an issue. We had a good night sleep. There are a couple of small things that can be improved: the comforter and the pillows were a bit worn. I'd replace them. A nice touch: The room comes with a really nice water bottle that can be refilled with filtered water, sparkling or still, on the second floor. If you like the bottle, you can buy it. The breakfast buffet was great, with a lot of choice and quality ingredients, fresh orange juice and excellent coffee and tea. A big plus: the dishes are really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only down side was the wi-fi. You cannot have more than three devices on the wi-fi. Really strange rule. I tried to check my e-mail while my wife was working on her computer but given that our phones were already connected, I could not check my e-mail. First time we had this problem. In today's world, this shouldn't happen.

Romantisch hotel in Ystad. Prima grote kamer met zithoekje en waterkoker voor thee en koffie. Moderne verlichting, niets mis mee. Prima ontbijtbuffet waar je op afgesproken tijdsloten kan ontbijten. Parkeren achter het hotel voor 100 kr per dag. Alleen de wifi is erg slecht. Nauwelijks verbinding en viel ook steeds weg.
