城市花園酒店(City Garden Hotel)

After 11 pm the check-in for this hotel is at a different hotel, Park Hotel Zug. Which is at least 250 m away. There's no guidance on how to get there. There is no one on front desk. This is feels like a 2 or 3 star hotel at most. Terrible experience.

Wieder einmal ein super schöner Abend. Das Essen war super und die Bedienung einfach top. 👍Der krönende Abschluss war das Dessert. Die Bedienung Herr Serdal war immer sehr freundlich und kompetent. Er hat zu dem gelungenen Abend, viel beigetragen. Ich bin immer wieder gerne da. 20.02.24

PRO: Freundliches Personal, gute Lage, einfaches Parken, geräumige und moderne Zimmer CONTRA: Das offene Bad verhindert jegliche Privat- und Intimsphäre. Dadurch, dass wirklich überall Spiegel angebracht sind, sieht man immer jede Ecke des Raumes und wird auch gesehen. Das WC hat zudem in meiner Wahrnehmung keine richtige Tür, sodass man an "allem" teilhaben kann. Andere Punkt: Im Gebäude und insbes. im Erdgeschoss riecht es IMMMER nach Küche und insbesondere nach kaltem Fett aus der Fritteuse. Ich war mittlerweile mehrfach und es ist wirklich penetrant, auf mich gar abstoßend.

The room is new, clean and conformable. Front desk staff was also great. Unfortunately the air conditioning system is very noisy and turned on and off all night. I could not sleep because of this. I would unfortunately not book again for this reason.

First stay in this hotel, and it was a great experience. Starting with the staff, the size of the room, the amenities, the cleaning, the comfort of the bed, breakfast... really everything it was beyond expectations. In previous business trips I have already tested a number of hotels in the region, but on the future I will only come to this one.

Stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip. Room was great, spacious and modern. Only downside is the reception is only manned until about 10.45-11.00 at night, so if you are arriving late you need to check in at the sister hotel around the corner. Bar was pricey but I think that’s just Switzerland! Breakfast was good, enough options, but kind of spread out over the dining area. The hotel offers large umbrellas to borrow at reception which was a bonus. It is well located, easy access to the train station and city.

Not suitable for business travel. There are no services for business travel, there are no practicalities at Garden City. You will not have an iron, & will need to use a communal, uninviting space to iron. We chose to pay for ironing services but had to pick up our clothes at the front desk. Also, if you check in “after hours”, you will need to check in at the parent hotel- The Park. Horrible, after long hours of travel. The room has no sense of comfort. In a country that has the benefits of a low population & expansive geographical space the room is like a cell. The bathroom is in the center of the room with limited space to organize, The design is gaudy. I’m certain it appeals to people who won’t be spending much time in the room, who have no business focusses. We found it tacky. It is advertised as modern- I suppose if modern means living at cheap club. I left prior to the end of my stay. Went back to Zurich & spent the money to travel back to Zug. The extra travel cost was well worth it. Ask questions of the hotel before booking your stay.
