TL; DR: Strongly disliked the check-in/check-out experience, but the room was fine and the location was great. When my husband and I arrived at the hotel, we rang the bell to come inside. The staff who answered via the intercom were polite, but would not allow us entry until we had checked in via our phone. So, we stood outside on the front stoop attempting to check-in. I had international cell service, but for anyone without service, they wouldn’t be able to check-in this way. For some reason the self check-in wasn’t working despite my having cell service, so we called the intercom again to ask to be let in and check-in on the iPad stationed just inside the entry way. Thankfully, that method of self check-in worked correctly, but our room was not available yet (we arrived before 3pm). This is our own ignorance, but we did not realize that a self check-in hotel meant that there are literally no staff physically present. That meant we needed to call again to inquire where to store our bags until our room was available. There are hotel lockers in the entryway, but the mobile key for them was not working either, so the hotel suggested we take our bags to the train station. When we let them know our bags were too big to fit in the train station lockers (my husband had a bike in a bag), they let us store our bags in their office on the second floor. It was nice of them to make this storage exception for us, but the hassle was an annoyance. When we checked out, staff again suggested to store our bags at the train station, but we were already headed to a lunch at a hotel, so we stored our bags with that other hotel instead. The room was clean, large enough with plenty of storage, had a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed having AC. The bathroom was clean and functional, but no glass encasing for the shower - just a curtain - was not pleasant as water would get all over all parts of the bathroom floor. We loved the location, very close to old town and multiple bus/tram stops.
