Fair hotel in an excellent location!

I can stay anywhere but when it’s horrible customer service nothing is worth it. The front desk staff was rude. She began debating with me about everything, when I asked if I could use my drivers license versus visa. She told me she could wait all night for me to get it and that it was what I used to get in the country. I was fully aware that I used it, terrible when checking in and very condescending. And you have to carry your luggage up and down a flight of stairs. My bag was heavy and I was struggling and no one came to help until I began dragging it and they only wanted to help because he said it was ruining the stairs. Shower curtain was old and grimy and shower doesn’t lip up for the water to stay in so the floor got completely wet.

Great location, right in the heart of old town within walking distance to shops, restaurants and transportation. Everyone at the front desk and breakfast were friendly and willing to answer any questions or curiosities. Room was great (not luxurious) but great details, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was basic but fresh, stocked with fruits, breads, yogurts, etc. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here on another trip to Zurich.

For anyone with a problem with stairs - this would not be the place for you. Although the hotel has a very nice, modern elevator, you still have to climb up a flight of stairs before you reach the reception counter where the elevator is located. Not a good hotel if you are handicapped. Otherwise, it's on a quaint sqare with lots of dining options either almost next door or a short walk (not even the proverbial "5 minutes").

Very convenient to old town and downtown Zurich. Close to HB station. Fairly easy walk to HB even with luggage. Good breakfast, friendly staff and view of square. Would stay there again.

I would have given a 5 star but the shower had a bit of mold on grout. And the room was extremely noisy. Lots of happy fun people walking until midnight and construction crew way too early making lots of noise. Which is NOT hotel fault. It was bad timing for us. Staff is extremely helpful, pleasant and speaks English well. Great stay . Very comfy beds.
