Come to Jinling Town and experience the unique "Jinling Blue" of Nanjing

Jinling Town is located on the west side of Niushou Mountain in Nanjing. It is an immersive themed scenic area that integrates history, culture, and natural landscapes. The layout of the scenic area is based on "one street, one water, one Zen, one hall, one museum, and two lakes," recreating the urban elegance of Jinling during the Six Dynasties. The architectural style of Jinling Town does not belong to any specific dynasty, but you can see traces of many dynasties. This is to reflect the greatest cultural characteristic of Jinling during the Six Dynasties, which is inclusiveness. The core buildings, Wenxin Pavilion and Lingxiao Terrace, are designed in the high platform architectural style popular during the Six Dynasties. The wooden structures adopt construction techniques such as "side foot," "raised base," and "upturned wing corners," which emerged during the Six Dynasties. The most distinctive and eye-catching feature of Jinling Town’s architecture is definitely the unique blue glazed tiles! The design team discovered this "blue" on the flying ribbons of Dunhuang frescoes and found its "roots" in the murals of the Six Dynasties. Using a colorimeter, they measured parameters such as hue, brightness, saturation, color difference, and reflectance of this blue as the basis for making the glazed tiles. Peacock blue glazed tiles are difficult to produce, requiring two firings: a high-temperature rapid firing and a low-temperature glaze firing. To ensure the quality of each tile remains consistent, a new kiln was specially commissioned in Suzhou, with professional technicians responsible for firing the glazed tiles.
