Taiwan's Old-School Japanese Coffee

Taiwan is one of the world's top 10 coffee cities, and among its unique features are the old Showa-style coffee shops: traditional Japanese wooden buildings from the Showa era, serving coffee brewed with siphon or charcoal, embodying the old-school flavor. In Taipei, Showa-style coffee shops are concentrated in the Da'an District, but the Akihabara Melody Coffee Shop is located in the Datong District. This small shop is decorated with many interesting little items and has only six tables. Recommended are the Showa-style pudding and siphon coffee, with rich egg flavor and coffee served with a whole ice cube, creating a double richness. Because I was too hungry, I ordered the mentaiko pizza, which is similar to Hong Kong's thick toast.
