Figures 1 and 2 show the African Union Conference Center, built with Chinese aid, reflecting China's deep friendship with Africa and firm support for African unity and self-reliance. It covers a total area of about 110,000 square meters, with a building area of 50,537 square meters. The office building is 99.9 meters tall, with one underground floor and 20 floors above ground. The conference center includes a large conference hall with over 2,500 seats, a medium conference hall with 697 seats, as well as small conference rooms, VIP meeting rooms, a multifunctional hall, an emergency medical center, a digital library, and more. Figures 4 and 5 show Entoto Mariam Church in Addis Ababa, built in 1877 by order of Emperor Menelik II of Ethiopia. It is one of the oldest churches in Addis Ababa. The building has an octagonal structure, characterized by brightly colored decorations (blue, red, yellow, etc.), reflecting the unique style of Ethiopian Orthodox churches. Figures 7 to 11 show that Addis Ababa is located on the East African plateau, with the urban area at over 2,300 meters above sea level and Entoto Mountain reaching 3,200 meters. The mountain is covered with eucalyptus trees and has fresh air. At the top of Entoto Park, there is a viewing platform with a broad view. From the platform, you can overlook the cityscape of Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. The clusters of high-rise buildings and residential areas are all visible. Figures 12 to 19 show Merkato Market in Addis Ababa, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa, located in the western part of the city, famous for its wide variety of goods. Since its establishment in 1960, Merkato Market has been an important commercial hub in Ethiopia, operating from early morning until night, covering various goods such as food, handicrafts, and clothing. As one of the largest open-air markets in Africa, it is vast and vibrant, attracting a large number of local residents and tourists.

The Sheraton Addis proved to be an outstanding hotel. It is perched on a gentle slope offering views of parts of Addis. The approach to the hotel from the side is truly impressive. The hotel's quality and ambiance surpassed my expectations. Addis and Ethiopia feature nice areas but also have their rough patches. The Sheraton ensures you'll feel well cared for during your visit. The doormen outside and reception staff were consistently helpful. Every dining venue we tried was excellent. The food and drinks, whether coffee or wine, were exceptional. Our favorite spot was the Stagioni Italian Restaurant, where we enjoyed dinner with a scenic view overlooking Addis Ababa's illuminated skyline. We sampled the local Ethiopian wine, Castel Rift Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, which we found delightful and more affordable compared to French or South African imports. We also enjoyed drinks and snacks before exploring the city at the Fountain Court bar in the lounge. Although we booked tours in advance, we likely could have arranged them at the Sheraton. We felt safe and encountered no issues with noise or crowds. On Saturday night, it was popular with lively groups of locals enjoying the hotel's charm.

Addis Ababa Museum dragged my attention starting from the building itself. It an old wooden building. At first when you enter you may compare it to the other historical museums you have already been to and this one will seem very modest and simple to you. True, it is very simple but very rich in historical things insides. Artefacts and pictures help you to understand the interesting history of Addis. A wonderful place to go out and enjoy the beautiful area. Friendship park is located very conveniently, there is a parking lot if needed and the entrance fee is very cheap, just 110 byr. The area is very big, clean and has many restaurants and pond and a beautiful area with different flowers and stairs from which you can take different beautiful pictures and get the wonderful city view in the flower garden. #aprilblooms #addisababa #ethiopia

One of the best hotels in Addis Ababa, if even not the best one, very conveniently located in the city. The staff is super helpful and polite, the room is extremely clean and having everything you need, the view from the balcony is just stunning. Breakfast is super delicious, lounge area is cozy with tasty food. The pool area is big and so comfy. Spa with jacuzzi is free for the hotel guests, you only need to pay for massage if needed. Note: advance reservations is needed, we arrived on Sunday at 4 pm and the massage was fully booked for this day. They also have a jogging route marked with the sign and very good outdoor gym. When you think of Ethiopia, you think of coffee! I always wanted to try coffee in its homeland, and my dream came true. The aroma of freshly roasted beans right in front of me was incredible. I was surprised at how much fresher the aroma was compared to coffee in Japan. Delicious. As expected from the land of coffee. A local taught me that adding salt to coffee can reduce its bitterness.
