we hadn't been to the Wheatsheaf for some time so thought we would give it a try while the government £10 scheme is running. We also managed to get a 25 percent discount on mains. Meaning our £53 meal was reduced to £28.43 which was a good start. The staff were great and our server Andrea was golden.... however. There was no Ice cream or cheesecake meaning desert options were very limited. As there was an offer on we went for the top steak - ribeye although we asked for a medium and blue they were both cooked the same somewhere between rare and medium, were very chewey and had a lot of gristle. The onion thing was burnt, peas were hard. The corn on the cob, salad bar and fries were good as was the sponge pud and custard. We should have complained and definitely would have if we had paid £53 however we will put it down to experience and eat elsewhere in future.
