TheForkUserA very nice place in Valenciennes area. Totally recommend if you want to taste the northern cuisine of France. Romantic, cosy and perfect place.
TheForkUserRefined and tasty food, service ok. Expensive wines by the glass.
TheForkUserIt was excellent , great service and cooking. Nice place to have a quality meal. The Chef was a very specific when he gave information on the plates.
TheForkUserVery good find, half way between the two couples. So very convenient, which was the main reason why we chose it. So it was a very good surprise that the restaurant was good as well. Nice welcome, nothing is too much asking and the food was excellent. We will definitely go again.
TheForkUserOn Friday evening we visited from Valenciennes there has own vegetable garden and pretty fresh one straight from there.Matured Angus beef was excellent and every dishes has seasoned presentation of Cambrai local mood!We do appreciate to have great moment at Le contemporain definitely visit again..
TheForkUserfantastic the dish le flambeè that is a veal fillet cooked on a mobile small kitchen in front of your table, very scenografic with the flames in the pan. very good the beer too from an abbey (triple). a little bit noisy the restaurant to mention a negative aspect.
TheForkUserMy husband and I went to this restaurant after checking the best Mons reviews according to the Fork. The building from outside is very nice and charming. The food is delicious: melting Irish beef filet with mouthwatering French fries. The waiters are friendly, and the service is fast.A small downside is the sauce that goes with the meat, and that costs 4 euros.Otherwise, all perfect!
TheForkUservery good location, it seems to be really in your living room at home (also the restroom reminds you your home). service very careful for the customer, very familiar and kind. food good: veil and agnoletti with truffles for me, duck's lever for my colleaugues. the remark maybe is the quantity of the truffles used that seemed to me not so much (not so tasteful as the truffles normally are). the fork discount applied. I suggest all the readers to try it, I'll come back for sure.
TheForkUserVery friendly reception and service, we admired the original wine room and enjoyed the food. I did use the cute reservation name tag to stabelize our table though, sorry about that ;)
TheForkUserWhere to begin.Starters (fried and filled balls and small mixed platter): very good. The balls are homemade (my assumption, they are definitely NOT industrial made), not greasy at all and have a very tasty filling.Main course: we had pasta dishes (paccheri and linguini) … perfect. Well executed, tasty pasta and savoury sauces. Absolutely bang on.Shame I don’t live nearby, I would be eating here often. And will be making the detour if I pass by again.Keep up the good cooking.
TheForkUserFortunate to be here for the New Year’s eve dinner. The food was delicious and the amount was more than enough. The restaurant organized some New Year’s performance as well. It was interesting and unforgettable, but a bit too much for a family dinner.
TheForkUservery good place, great ambiance, friendly servers and very good, tasty, high quality food. We liked it very much and we will come back.
TheForkUserCe fut très bon !
TheForkUserI have been there on several other occasions and it used to be a lovely place. In my opinion the restaurant should not open and accept 7 tables when they have *two* simultaneous weddings going on at the same time in the domain.Crazy noise level, slower service and food not appropriate for a 50eur menu.Very disappointing
