<p>The SO36 tour leads through the &quot;wild&quot; Kreuzberg.</p>
<p>It starts at Kottbuser Tor, where everyday life in Kreuzberg meets a colourful neighbourhood culture. Turkish market, Arabic restaurants and bistros, chic cafés and alternative clubs and bars gather around the square, which is shared by the elevated railway of the famous Line 1. Past Wilhelminian style houses and the huge architecture of the &quot;New Kreuzberg Centre&quot;, a 70s residential building, we approach the pulsating Oranienstraße, the heart of the former postal delivery area SO 36, after which the neighbourhood is still named today. Here, restaurants line up next to bars and shops with the typical Kreuzberg charm: Arabic cafés next to restaurants with international cuisine next to legendary bars and clubs such as the &quot;Franken&quot;, the &quot;SO36&quot;, the &quot;Roses&quot; and &quot;Zum Elefanten&quot;. There is a lot to discover here. The Berlin Institute for the Blind with its own shop or the Museum of Things, comic shops or fashion stores. And there is always something going on here.</p>
<p>Continue on via Heinrich-Platz past the women&#x27;s centre &quot;Schokoladenfabrik&quot; to Mariannenplatz, where the Kunstquartier Bethanien (a former hospital) is located. Next door in the &quot;Rauchhaus&quot; you will find remains of the former squatter scene. Now we continue to Görlitz Park, where once stood the historic Görlitz railway station. Around the corner, through Falckensteinstraße, our way leads to Oberbaumbrücke, which symbolically connects East and West Berlin. On the eastern side of the Spree riverbank is the &quot;East Side Gallery&quot;, the largest remaining piece of the Berlin Wall, decorated with numerous paintings by international artists.</p>
