MichaeltheGreatGeorgia 🇬🇪 Narikala Fortress, built during the 3rd century Iberian Kingdom Narikala is said to have originated from the old Persian word Nari-Kala, which means an impregnable fortress. After the Iberian Kingdom, it was ruled by the Armenian Kingdom and was restored during the Sassanid Persian Dynasty and became Nari-Kala. After the Sassanid Dynasty, it was ruled by the Seljuks, but this fortress was never captured, and it was destroyed during the Mongol invasion in the 13th century. After the Mongols withdrew, it was under Russian rule and used as the southernmost base of the Russian army during the Russo-Ottoman War. It is said that before the name Nari-Kala, it was called Shiris-thike. Nari-Kala was rebuilt in the 11th century by David III, but it partially collapsed due to the Tbilisi earthquake in the 15th century and was repaired in the 17th century to remain as it is today.

HarryLaoshiThis was a big wow place for me. A huge monument with many sculptures about history of the ancient country. From the city center you can take a taxi to the place which will cost you around 15 lari. The entrance to the monument area is free. It’s located on the top of a hill and it also has a beautiful view to Tbilisi Sea. That’s how locals call the lake located on the northeast side of the city.

梨花落🍀The Monastery of the Cross (Jvari Church) was built at the end of the 6th century AD. It is the place where Saint Nino first erected a cross when Christianity was introduced to Georgia in the 4th century AD. Lermontov, a great Russian poet, wrote the famous poem "The Child Monk" here. The church houses a portrait of Saint Nino and a huge wooden cross called the Cross of Saint Nino, which attracts a large number of believers to make pilgrimages. The monastery is located on a rocky mountaintop near the ancient city of Mtskheta, overlooking the confluence of the Kura River and the Aragvi River and the ancient city of Mtskheta.
