I just visited Kangding and stayed there for two days. We stayed in a well-known hotel that was excellent value and clean. That evening, I took my family to Kangding City for dinner. We enjoyed the local specialties of yak beef and mushroom soup, which was reasonably priced—less than 300 RMB for the five of us. After dinner, we went to the square to watch Tibetan dance, strolled around, and bought lots of local clothing and souvenirs before returning to the hotel. During dinner, since it was my first time in Kangding, I couldn't find a parking lot, so I had no choice but to park on the side of the road.
