M49***48The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is Myanmar’s most sacred Buddhist shrine, with its magnificent tower covered with 7 tons of gold, set with 5,448 diamonds and 2,317 gems, dazzling in the sun. The legendary tower is dedicated to the eight Buddhas of Sakyamuni, whose history dates back to 585 BC and has been repaired for thousands of years, becoming one of the three major monuments in Southeast Asia. Tourists need to walk around the tower barefoot, listen to the crisp sound of more than 10,000 gold and silver bells, and feel the pious Buddhist atmosphere. At sunset, the tower reflects the sunset, intertwined with the lights, and is more solemn and mysterious, which is a miracle of the perfect integration of religion and art.
