Worth to visit if you are travelling to Xining. Go to South Hall instead of the free North Hall to see the cultural displays. The QR code caused us some trouble as there were 3 places that you need to scan the code. But once you scan it will showed used and will be barred from entering the other 2 locations. The staffs were friendly and quickly manually let us in.
A surprisingly large museum.The building dedicated to Tibetan medicine is free to enter, while the main one requires a ticket. You can easily spend several hours exploring, even without diving too deeply into the details. Most of the exhibits are well preserved and thoughtfully displayed. However, English translations are limited — only the main descriptions are available in English, while most of the texts remain untranslated.

A bit far from the town , took didi about 60 , also can join the day tour. Weather is a bit cold in end of Oct, but still crowded.
Ta'er Temple is a famous Tibetan Buddhist temple in Qinghai. During the summer vacation, there are many tourists. You can park your car in the parking lot next to the visitor center early. If the parking lot is full, you have to park far away and take the shuttle bus to the temple. There are several different Buddhist temples in the Ta'er Temple. Tourists who don't know much about religion are generally just a simple look. The last temple has a beautiful exhibition of oil flowers, which is very beautiful.
