Ascending the 99 steps, one feels as if they&#39;ve led one through millennia of history, each step treading upon a rich cultural heritage. The towering memorial archways, inscribed with the inscriptions &quot;High Mountains to Admire&quot; and &quot;River and Mountain Sun,&quot; silently testify to the boundless reverence of future generations for the historian. From the summit, gaze eastward at the mighty Yellow River, like a golden dragon, and westward at the vast, rolling Liangshan Mountains. The magnificent landscape unfolds before one&#39;s eyes, echoing the majestic visions of Sima Qian&#39;s writings. Within the shrine, towering ancient cypresses and numerous stone tablets stand, inscribed with inscriptions by generations of literati and poets praising the enduring achievements of the Grand Historian. Behind the shrine, ancient cypresses shaped like dragons at Sima Qian&#39;s tomb symbolize his unyielding spirit, growing even more vigorous after millennia of trials and tribulations. Not only are there majestic ancient buildings and beautiful natural scenery, but there are also vivid historical scrolls like the Twelve Chronicles Landscape Garden, as well as novel interactive projects such as XR immersive experience and bamboo slip transcription, which make history truly &quot;alive&quot;. Sima Qian Temple is located in the south of Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province. It was built in the fourth year of Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,700 years. It was built to commemorate the historian, writer, and thinker Sima Qian. The square is large and the group of statues is very imposing. Parking is convenient and it is a national AAAA-level scenic spot.

The forest coverage rate in Shaohua Mountain Scenic Area is super high. Take the Jingjiao car to Shimenxia, enter the hiking route, shuttle among the dense woods, listen to birds singing, watch squirrels jump, and luckily find some rare plants. This feeling of being close to nature is great.

After enjoying the scenery of Shaohua Mountain, remember to visit the Huazhou Shadow Puppet Park at Warehouse 205 to watch veteran shadow puppeteers perform and witness the traditional Huayin folk opera, including hand-colored and framed shadow puppets. Advance reservations are required; group bookings are currently being accepted.

I went to Shaohua Mountain several times a year. In winter, I enjoyed the snow, ice hangings, and snow sports. It was fun. In summer, the mountain was cool and pleasant, with beautiful scenery of mountains and water. It was not tiring to walk in the canyon. You can also take the cable car to the top of the mountain and walk on the glass plank road to see the small mountains. The view was broad and the mood was open and comfortable. I would go again.
