Got my ticket on Trip, and had to exchange for a physical ticket (they'll automatically assign a designated seat) at the Ticketing Office. Show is at 1945 hrs and one can enter from 1845 hrs. There's really no hurry to enter early since it's assigned seating. I was lucky to get a seat in Area 3, which is in the middle section, facing the Pavilion directly. At the start they had some audience engagement activities with giveaways and also sale of calligraphy artwork by 王刚亮, a famous calligrapher, who claims 王羲之 as his great-great-great-grand teacher.The actual performance brings the Pavilion's history to life, through projection, drama, dance and music including fire acrobatics, pyrotechnics and mobile sets. Glad that it's tiered seating for unblocked views. Overall it's an enjoyable 45 mins that I highly recommend.
Personally think that it is the first of the three famous buildings in Jiangnan. It is best to arrive at 5 pm in the summer and play until about 10 pm. There are many tourists there, the scenery, the cultural heritage is deep, and the ticket of 50 yuan is great value.

Beautiful scenery, many things to see/do for various activity levels. For elderly with mobility issues, only rafting is suitable. The other atttactions involve significant walking. If just doing rafting, there is no need to buy the bus ticket. You can take car to the rafting pier. There is also a pick up point at the end of the rafting route.
The Rock and Flower Fragrance Trail offers tea plantations, mountains, and scenery. The Cave Heavenly Immortal Residence Trail offers climbing Tianyou Peak, enjoying the scenery and tea plantations. Rafting along Jiuqu River, you can see Yunu Peak. I love tea and visiting tea plantations, including Dahongpao and Rougui tea plantations. The air in the tea plantations is fresh and the scenery is beautiful. However, the weather in September can be very hot and sunny.

Gaoyiling is located in Zhangzhou City, a scenic spot with Danxia landforms. The scenic spot opens at 8:00 in the morning, and is not allowed to enter the park at 17:10 in the afternoon. You will leave the park before dark. There are no lights on the mountain. In summer, it usually starts dark at 19:30. From the south gate, go to the right iron cable bridge, take Stonehenge, climb the ladder, hang the plank road, Longji Station, Juzhu Lake, and finally return to the south gate. It took 2 hours to walk the small loop of Gaoyiling. There is no dragon back, because it is too tired. If you go, it is estimated to take an extra hour or two. The scenery of Gaoyiling is really amazing, the unique Danxia landform, and the scenery at every angle is different. Although some of the suspended plank road is a glass plank road, it will not be too scary. Brave people can also experience cliff swings, cliff climbing (Feilada) and high-altitude fly ropes on the mountain. You must do a good job of sun protection when entering the scenic spot, and there are not many shaded places on the mountain. There is a Western-style fast food restaurant inside the entrance of the scenic spot, there is a Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel outside, and there is also a service station on the mountain. Transportation: There are buses in Zhangzhou City to the intersection of the scenic spot, but there are not many trains. It is more convenient to take a taxi, but you have to be a little patient for the return trip.

Scenic area that is walkable from end to end. Can complete in half a day. If travelling with elderly people that cannot walk much, it is possible to engage a certified guide at the entrance for 100 yuan for a group. The guide can provide transport depending on what they have (scooter/ car) to bring you from attraction to attraction. We visited the main attractions in less than 2 hours with a car. At the end of the tour, the guide suggest for you to drink tea at their "home" as a way to bring you to a tea shop.
If your destination is Quanzhou, it's not worth making a special trip to Zhangzhou. The Tulou (earthen buildings) are small and not concentrated. The famous Tulou are not as good as the clusters of Tulou that haven't become internet sensations. If you want to see Tulou, it's recommended to do your research first. You can't go up to take pictures in the Tulou in Yunshuiyao, and they really take up very little space.

This was the best experience in our (family) 5D4N holiday in Quanzhou/tulou/xiamen. We enjoyed staying one night in Herongzhuang tulou inn or Floral hotel in Taxia village. Alice, the host, was very helpful. She arranged to have us picked up from Zhangzhou railway station. Jesse drove us around the gazetted Nanjing tulou scenic area. But nothing beats staying in a 400 year old tulou to have the experience. The rooms were clean, air conditioned and there was hot water shower. We slept very well on the comfortable beds. We had dinner in one of the restaurants near the village river. The fried fish, like Japanese shishamo, are fish from the village river, and tasted excellent. We had porridge for breakfast prepared by Alice the next morning before we were driven to Xiamen.

This is my second time in Fujian. I didn’t come here last time when I came with local friends because I thought it was just a pile of dirt and they didn’t want to bring me here. This time I can finally come here on my own. The buildings are so unique, so great!
Most of the earthen buildings are now occupied by elderly people, and the underground floors have become shops and stalls. However, if you visit here, you can still feel the life attitude of the Fujianese when they lived here. It is worth a visit.
