长脸张少侠Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand After the Indian campaign in 1399, Timur decided to build a massive mosque in his new capital, Samarkand. When Timur returned from his military campaign in 1404, the mosque was nearly complete. However, he was dissatisfied with the progress and immediately ordered various alterations, particularly to the main dome. In the 15th century, it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world. It is considered a masterpiece of the Timurid Renaissance. By the mid-20th century, only the magnificent ruins remained, but much of the mosque was restored during the Soviet era. The museum's exhibits focus primarily on Timur's lineage, his rise to power, the military campaigns of Sahib Kiran, diplomatic and trade relations, crafts, urban renewal and landscaping, and the development of science and education. Also featured are items related to the Timurid dynasty, including maps, weapons, copper and silver coins, miniatures, rare manuscripts, pottery, and jewelry. 长脸张少侠Tashkent [Holy Assumption Cathedral] Construction of this cathedral began in 1877 to replace the existing Panteleimon Church, built in 1871 on the Tashkent Hospital Cemetery. Funds for its construction were donated by city residents. The building was completed in 1878, and on January 31, 1879, it was consecrated in memory of the great martyr and healer Panteleimon. NcholckThe Ulegh Beg Observatory visit was one of my most anticipated planned visits on my trip and it did not dissapoint. Beutiful tranquil place with nice little museam and park benches around it to sit and reflect on how much the mans early discoveries has meant to mankind.

长脸张少侠Samarkand [Gur-i Amir Mausoleum] Gur-i Amir Maqbarasi Gur-i Amir, begun in 1403, is commonly known as the final resting place of Timur, but was originally built by Timur for his beloved grandson, Muhammad Sultan. Sultan died at the age of 27, his sudden death leaving Timur without a chosen successor. Timur died of pneumonia in 1405, while the mausoleum was still unfinished. He was buried at Gur-i Amir, which later became the Timurid royal mausoleum. It later became the burial place for many members of Timur's family. The tower, with an observation deck 97 meters above ground, is primarily used for radio and television transmission. Signals can reach the farthest points in the Tashkent region and parts of southern Kazakhstan. The tower is also used for communications between government departments and organizations. It also serves as a comprehensive hydrometeorological station. The outer walls have a perimeter of 789.6 meters, enclosing an area of 3.96 hectares, with wall heights varying from 16 to 20 meters. Originally built and inhabited around the 5th century AD, Bukhara Citadel served as a town in addition to serving as a military structure. For much of its history, it housed various royal families who ruled the region surrounding Bukhara. Bukhara Citadel continued to serve as a fortress until its capture by Russia in 1920. Currently, Bukhara Citadel is a tourist attraction housing a museum explaining its history. The museum and other restored areas include an archaeological museum, a throne room, reception and coronation courts, a local history museum, and a palace mosque.
