蓮峯廟

Many people who come to Macao for the first time do not know that there is such a scenic spot. There is Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in front of the temple. The temple and the memorial hall share a courtyard. When visiting the memorial hall, you can also come in and visit it for free. The temple is not big, but it feels exquisite and historic. There are two big lanterns hanging at the gate, which is very striking. Entering the temple is a few yards with pools and beautiful sculptures on the walls beside the pools. The roof is also hung with a circle of tower-shaped incense common in southern temples or ancestral temples. The temple is quiet and there are not many visitors. Most of them are local godly grannies who are incensed. Macau's historic sites are worth visiting.

蓮峯廟位於提督馬路，是澳門著名禪院之一，建於明朝，距今已有近四百年歷史。佔地遼闊，古樹婆娑，廟貌莊嚴肅穆。蓮峯廟古名「天妃廟」，規模較小，供奉天後娘娘。從清朝時代起多番擴建，修葺而成今之規模。現時主廟供奉觀音天後，此外，尚有武帝殿、仁壽殿、醫靈殿、神農殿、沮涌殿及金花娘娘痘母殿。廟內有一石荷池，每當夏日荷開，蓮葉滿塘，香遠益清；還有一幅栩栩如生，砌有神龍、巨鯉的壁畫，造型奇特。十九世紀中葉，清廷官吏林則徐到澳巡閱，曾在蓮峯廟台案接見澳葡官員。現時在廟前空地建有林則徐全身石像，重五噸、高三米，藉以紀念林氏到澳一事。林則徐紀念館於1997年11月在蓮峯廟內落成，以讚揚林則徐不畏強權，勇敢禁毒的高尚品格。1839年，兩廣總督林則徐被任命為欽差大臣，堅決實行禁絕鴉片措施，在虎門銷毀二百多萬斤鴉片。由於當時澳門是鴉片集散地，林則徐遂於同年七月來澳巡視，並於天後殿前天階的亭台，會見葡萄牙官員，亭台今日仍舊保存，屋簷後懸有一「心」字匾額，寓公正判案之意。館內藏有虎門銷煙；澳門昔日風貌等圖片，林則徐和朝廷之間的通訊資料。還有各種船隻的模型：清代的中國軍艦、葡萄牙航船和鴉片存放船等。在紀念館的中央，擺放了真人般大小的模型，再現了當時林則徐接見葡官員的情形。最後，觀眾還會看到吸食鴉片的器具，以此提醒人們不要忘記毒品的禍害。
