Taipei | I used to only know about Eslite, but it turns out the library is also amazing
This time back in Taiwan, I finally had time to schedule a visit to the library.
-
📖: 'More than a Library'
📍: Inside the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Xinyi District, Taipei
🎫: 50 Taiwan dollars per person
-
The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is converted from the former Songshan Tobacco Factory. The long corridor-style old building is now used as an art exhibition space and a cultural and creative product sales area. Some areas require a ticket to visit, like the 'More than a Library' I went to this time.
-
This is a sunken space design, with most of the books on display related to art, design, and marketing. The library has plenty of space for sitting on the floor, which is very reader-friendly.
-
Entering through a small, risky entrance, you find yourself in another world. It is still a book display area, which used to be the employee bathhouse of the Songshan Tobacco Factory. Outside the bathhouse, there is a small garden, but unfortunately, it was not open that day.
-
Inside the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, there are also many cafes and independent bookstores. The most interesting one is an Eslite bookstore, which is interesting because this Eslite is not only a bookstore but also includes a department store and Eslite Hotel (a hotel opened by Eslite). It's very large and you can spend half a day browsing.

The CAMA Coffee in the park is also one of my favorites. Its architectural style is completely different from other CAMAs. CAMA is cheap and delicious, and I hope it opens in Mainland China soon!
Free tour, take the MRT at the Father of the Nation Memorial Station. The buildings in the area are mainly old smoke factories. The buildings have a sense of history. Some facilities such as fire hoses, stairs and laundry rooms still retain the appearance of the past. Now the factory is stationed for sales merchants or cultural shops, there are also different exhibitions and studios, but the area is large and will not feel crowded.
I will come here to watch the exhibition and enjoy the scenery from time to time. Whether it is good or bad, there is a beautiful view to enjoy. When the weather is good, it will be more beautiful to shoot! There is a feeling of tranquility in the city, but enjoying the tranquility ~ Songshan Cultural and Creative Park
Address: It is more convenient to take the city bus to arrive than the MRT. Recommended reason: This time I just came to Eslite Travel, so I came to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park by the way. There are different exhibitions corresponding to different periods. There are restaurants in the park for the whole family to eat or picnic. Tip: Near the Dome and the MRT Station of the Father of the Nation Memorial Hall. Business hours: 08:00-22:00
don’t miss out the new Eslite bookstore and hotel! lovin the vibes and local stores selling Taiwanese creations and products!
Amazing destination for travel! The views are magnificent and amazing. The people are friendly and welcoming and make me feel at home. Definitely recommend this place for a memorable journey.
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (Songyan) is a popular attraction in Taipei. It contains Songyan Exhibition, Songyan Food Restaurant, Wenchuang Store, and Songyan Eslite Store, Eslite Travel, Eslite Cinema ⋯ and other diverse elements are super rich. It’s no problem to play in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park for most of the day. Plus, it is easy to get to the traffic by MRT. It is recommended to plan a day trip to Taipei with nearby Taipei 101, the Father of the Nation Memorial Hall, Xinyi Department Store District, and Sisi Nancun.
