Every time I come to Taiwan, I have to pay respect to Taipei Tianhou temple because the regular hotel is near this temple 🥹 and the inside of the temple is beautiful.
'In case anyone wants to pay homage to monks in Ximending' near Rainbow Road Enjoy walking and seeing you.
This is a beautiful Chinese & Japanese Buddhist temple in the Ximen district. It's worth a visit especially for it's historical significance. Built originally in the 18th century it was destroyed during one of the Japanese occupations but it was rebulit hundreds of years later after independence. You can still see some Japanese Buddhist statues on the grounds of the temple.
This was an interesting find. I was walking around Ximen with my parents when we chanced upon this temple. The lanterns and the intricate designs were lovely to look at. And it’s cool to see something like this tucked in a busy shopping district.
