Yuanshan, also known as Yuanshan Tsai in ancient times, is located between Shilin/Dazhi, Taipei City, Taiwan. The mound was originally named "Dalongdong Mountain" or "Dalong Mountain". When the solar term enters the autumnal equinox (September 23 or September 24 in the Chinese calendar) and the weather slowly turns cooler, the Columbine tree blooms with terminal panicles. The tree's canopy is covered with bright yellow flowers, hence the beautiful English name Taiwan Golden-Rain.
