The gallery is a practical use of part of the st. John''s Hospital building, exhibiting the main works and materials of Memlin, who was active in Bruges, in particular the Holy Relics of St. Eusula, one of Belgium''s seven secret treasures.

The Memling Museum, located on the side of Notre Dame Cathedral, is located in one of the oldest medieval hospitals in Europe (St. John's Hospital, opened only to believers and the poor, was built in the 12th-17th century). The daily life of the hospital is recreated in magnificent old wards through collections of paintings, sculptures, furniture and decorative arts. Neighboring churches are undoubtedly the treasure houses of hospitals, including many outstanding 15th century oil paintings and Saint Ursul's Sacred Bone Casket, all of which are Memlin's works. The pharmacy built in the 17th century is located in the original monastery and has been completely preserved.
