After visiting the Macba we went across to Kino Cafe for some much needed refreshments. Great outside terrace for people watching. Friendly staff who were very helpful in helping us plan the rest of our time in the city. They have a wonderful variety of vegetarian tapas and I also enjoyed two delicious strawberry Mojitos! I don't normally drink cocktails but I really enjoyed the unique ambiance of this place. It is situated in a very up & coming part of the city. Go there while the prices are still so reasonable.Way more enjoyable than the tourist traps on Las Ramblas.
I stopped by after a visit to MACBA. The setting is great with a nice terrace which is perfect for people watching. Good mix of customers consisting of mostly locals and some tourists. Service was efficient and friendly. The casual dining menu had something for everyone from snacks to accompany you ice cold cervessa to full lunch or dinner options. The standard of food was high and it was good value. As it headed towards nighttime the vibe became hip without being painfully hip. All round good neighbourhood spot and definitely on the list for my return trip to BCN.
Cafe Kino is a place I visit almost annually as its next door to the MACBA museum. So happy to discover that the menu had a great new selection of salads. I'm on a strict diet and whenever I find places that presents ingredients and serves new salad combinations I'm thrilled! The Asian salad with oranges, seeds and lovely filling sauce is highly recommended. Sit outside and enjoy your meal while skaters make the perfect entertainment :)
