This restaurant is located in the heart of the Andalucia section of the Poble Espanyol and I highly recommend eating here if you are interested in trying southern Spanish cuisine. The food we ate here had the appearance and taste of the cuisine we had when we were actually in Córdoba and Seville. I recommend having the Iberico pork - it is juicy and has a nice texture (somewhat crispy) and the potatoes were rich in flavour. The desserts here (especially fried milk and the crema catalana) are not too rich or sweet but just right to end the meal. The patio section of the restaurant is quiet and peaceful and a nice break from the other crowds of this open air museum. Very comfortable setting. Service was excellent and efficient.
We were in Poble Espanyol looking for a restaurant that wasn't a tourist trap that serves only fried food. We happened down the alleyway where Patio Cordobes is located. After looking at the menu, we (us and our three young kids) decided to give it a try. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The ensalada andaluza (potato salad topped with tuna), garden salad, roasted seasonal vegetables, spring chicken, lamb stew, marinated tomatoes, spinach fritters, and meatballs with peas were all excellent. For dessert we shared a fruit salad, which was homemade and delightfully unsweetened. The cost for the above, along with 2 litres of water was about eur55.00. It was easily some of the best food we had during our two week stay in Barcelona. The waiters were great and we were very happy with the whole evening!
We discovered this nice place almost by accident on our visit at Poeblo Español. The menu looked interesting and they had a nice patio where we got a table in the shade. We tried a selection of tapas, and some of their hot dishes, and they turned out to be really nice. In particular the Patatas Bravas, the Rabo de Toro - braised oxtail - and the Ensalada de questo de cabra con nuces - goat cheese with nuts - is recommended. This day, the Flamenquin - a large croquette with loin, iberan ham and cheese - with French fries was a disappointment. The price was at a reasonable level. Probably one of the best restaurants in Poeblo Español. A very positive experience!
