Gracia was a lovely respite from crowds and tourists the beautiful tree lined streets, walkways and local shops are incredibly charming. We also loved all the little nooks and plazas we found wandering around. In particular I found the street called Verdi really enchanting. It's treelined and full of little shops. This is a perfect area to walk around and get lost in in Barcelona.
At only 8 minutes by metro the another traditional neighborhood of the city, with it charming squares and a lot alternative of good restaurants and bars. The life is quieter, however not specially in some square like Plaza del Sol and over all it`s festival of middle of August with the mayority of the streets full of funny sculptures and a great party the last day.

The original shops in Calle Verdi, the indie cinema, the international restaurants...
