I enjoyed a range of small bites from the tapas menu, wanting to enjoy a variety of textures and flavours. I sat back after the meal and felt relaxed and happy - the service was just fine, the meal components were winners - finely made, well conceived, fresh and crisp. Loved it. Menu has traditional Japanese options, along with some modern interpretations hence their Gastro Pub title!
Sunday lunch and we obviously picked the wrong "Japanese " place to eat out of a huge choice in Newbury street. The place was practically empty and apart from a couple of okay sushi dishes the rest were a big mistake! Not much else to say except that this was the only disappointing restaurant we visited during our stay in Boston.
