Probably the highlight of the Freedom Trail, the Old North Church isn't just, well, an old church, but has a lot of interesting history inside. They have many posters and plaques explaining about the real Paul Revere's ride as well as digging into some of the politics and interesting facts about the people who attended the church throughout the years. Well worth the stop!
The Old North Church is the oldest standing church, and the second oldest building in Boston. The Church opened it doors for worship in December of 1729. The church was immortalized during the American Revolution when Paul Revere asked the church rector to place one lantern in the steeple, if the Brits were attacking by land, or two lanterns, if they were attacking by sea. Paul Revere was then able to warn the Patriots at Lexington and Concord that the Redcoats were coming by sea. "One if by land, and two if by sea!"
Exciting place to visit and feel the history while being there.
