St George the Martyr

The church was built of red brick and Portland stone, with wind vanes on the tower. It is said that the predecessor of the church was the place where Henry V was greeted after the victory of the battle in 1415. Nearly two thousand coffins were buried in the basement.

St. George is an eighteenth century church with a beautiful ceiling and two powerful side balconies. The unusual thing is that there are two royal badges, both of which belong to the Stewart House.
