Superb find in Happy Valley - great French Bistro with a Parisian feelWe found this place by accident walking around Happy Valley.. The food is superb, truffle risotto was el dente and full of flavour..The chicken supreme was succulent with crispy skin and an umami taste bud tingling sauce.. Really good..
Interesting salads. Terrible ribeye. Kitchen is slooow. Service is alright.
Laid back French bistro; beef tartare is excellent
The Treat at the End of the TramIf youre anywhere on the HK Island tram line (Ding Ding!) catch the Happy Valley Tram and ride it to its terminus. Walk half a block farther on the left to a charming French Bistro. Saint Germain, with indoor and patio seating, offers great food and cocktails featuring the lovely St Germain Liqueur of its namesake. Weve eaten there twice and had great experiences both times. Starters include the bistro faves...snails and frog legs- both good choices. Try the duck breast or the truite and you wont go wrong! Reasonable prices and that convenient location on the tram line make this one of our new favorites.
Escargot found!Good menu, tempting specials but no sign of snails. But after a quick request to one of the staff they were found and served up in a garlic sauce. First visit to St Germain and it was a great evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and staff were on the ball. Between the 3 of us we had the fois gras terrine - gorgeous - and snails to start. Main dishes were the steak tartare, pork and red mullet all of which were well cooked and presented.This restaurant is not on any of the main drags in HK so no need to rush, and has the advantage of being at the terminus of the Tram. Well woth a visit.
Share a 600g rib eye steak with fat chips. Divine!
Cheese pasta super awesome too, must try!
