This museum is well worth the visit; it's a huge museum and many displays are life-size, making them come to life. The descriptions are in Chinese and in excellent English and they are quite helpful in understanding the the exhibits. There are eight specific "ages" shown in the history of Hong Kong and it will take about two-and-a-half hours minimum to appreciate all of them, and that's without reading all the descriptions. There are also large rooms with videos being played that add some vibrancy to the tour. I came away with a better understanding of Hong Kong and, more broadly, the history of China.
A really interesting place to visit and learn all about the history of Hong Kong, starting from millions of years ago to present day Hong Kong. Lots of information and well explained, video clips, interactive games and life size models of a HK Junk, shops, tea room, hair salon, bank etc etc. Well worth going to see, we went on a Wednesday and the entrance was free. #wintergetaway
