We first found Texas and BBQ whilst out shopping in Queens we stopped for lunch and wow the food was amazing, we were told they have a restaurant in Times Square so the following day we decided to go for our evening meal. For the price the portions are huge, both me and my friend couldn't finish it all but it was so nice, what's so funny is neither of us normally like BBQ but yet this restaurant changed out opinion. Amazing food, Amazing value for money, Amazing service, Amazing place.
We spent the day in NYC last week and originally planned to eat somewhere else. The President was in town so it messed up all of our plans. This left us in the Times SQ area around 6:30 looking for a place for dinner. Everywhere and I mean everywhere was packed. We stumbled across Texas BBQ and since there was no wait we decided to give it a try. It was massive and extremely loud. So loud it hurt my ears and I could not communicate with the waiter. Service was super slow as it took our server at least 10 minutes to approach our table and another 10-15 to bring two drinks. Salad came quickly and was so so. I ordered a rack of ribs that arrived so dry and super spicy. My husband had a chicken and rib patter and again, very dry. Although his ribs were sweet. We were never asked about any particular sauce for the ribs. The french fries had no salt or seasoning and the whole plate turned me off. I left so unstatisified and disappointed. I do not suggest this restaurant to anyone.
