This classic Orlando locale is for nature lovers and fun-seekers a like. The park has a little something for everyone, including boat rentals, a Sunday farmer’s market and scenic views perfect for an afternoon bike ride, morning jog or picnic. Be sure to check out their “Movieola” movie nights on the park every other Friday between May and August, as well their concert schedule at the classic Walt Disney Amphitheater. For animal lovers, there is no shortage of wildlife (yes, you can feed them…the appropriate food!), particularly within the bird species. Aside from the lovely Walt Disney Amphitheater, Lake Eola Park is dotted with lovely architecture and a gorgeous natural landscape. For those who want fun on a dime, be sure to check out this local treasure.
You can schedule a picnic, bring your dog and a frisbee, or simply stroll around the park and enjoy the Florida sunshine. It doesn't sound like much excitement for the kiddos, but I assure you, there's lots to look at and plenty of green space to run around and play. You can even rent a fun swan paddle boat and venture out into the lake!
If you’re looking to run around a fairly short loop, this is one of your best bets. Lake Eola is in the heart of downtown with gorgeous scenery (think art sculpture, large trees, and a fountain in the lake). The path is 0.9 miles around the lake, and it’s a fun route for a quick run or a couple of miles. I like this spot because I can people watch on my run, but sometimes it can get a bit crowded with families and people out for a stroll around the lake.
