Kashmir point in Murree is possibly the most accessible view of Kashmir but that doesn’t make it any less astounding. Although the mountains far off in the distance are continually covered in snow, Murree is not. When it snows locals turn a profit by making horse and camel shaped snow men on the road sides for visitors to pose with and have their photos taken. They often decorate them with tassels and flowers. Of course the best time to see the snow men would be by the day after it snows and not much later! Elsewise, you get this chunky camel for your photos 🐫 ⛄️ #mynovgetaway

Arriving in Murree after a short drive up the mountain from Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, you can’t help but notice a melding of classic mountain charm and a haphazardness which keeps it lively and interesting. The weekend crowds mill about, snacking, poking at the muddied snow, and taking in the fresh air. #mynovgetaway

A drive through Bhurban- micro busses and old Suzukis zoom past you as you whir along the pathway, winding and bending your way up the mountain. You’ve reached the height where there’s snow, but the sunlight offers a gentle hand against the crisp mountain air. Trees tower above from below, thick bark, and green needles, the snows from the previous days already melted. A nature lover’s joy ride. #mynovgetaway

Although partially obscured by haze, I saw Kashmir from afar. Perched on a Helipad on a cliff’s edge at Pearl Continental Bhurban, the mountains big and small unfolded beneath and beyond me. Layers upon layers form a painting where each brush stroke is a massive body of rock, the peaks in the distance measuring 3000-5000 meters. The air was crisp, and the morning was made. #mynovgetaway#instagramworthydestinations

The view from Pearl Continental Bhurban is beautiful. The grounds are perfectly kept and the building itself is the type of architecture which doesn’t fight the mountain, but joins in with its small peaks and jaggedness. The restaurants and the rooms overlook the peaks beyond, grassy mountains eventually giving way to snow capped peaks. #mynovgetaway

So, I loved this resort. It had everything we needed and any activity we could think of. The water was beautiful and the days are peaceful unless you seek excitement. Sipping decorated coconuts 🥥 in the shade and snacking on tropical fruit 🥭... It was a small slice of paradise. The greenery of the pagoda was a pleasant change of colours and atmosphere, but it’s hard to get tired of the never ending blue and that island breeze 🏝 #mynovgetaway#awesomepic#couplestrip

Whichever way you slice it, viewed from whatever odd angle you like... the waters in the Maldives are stunning. The colours are vibrant to a point of absurdity, the beauty a mental massage for a tired over stimulated city brain. It is no wonder this small nation lives off of tourism, and no wonder why this place is esteemed by the world. What a gift, let us be sure to keep our waters clean to preserve it! #mynovgetaway

The narrow mountain roads ought to deter big trucks like this but not in Pakistan! The decorated truck is a cultural symbol of the lands, each one competing to add more patterns, more bling! The mountains are my own personal symbol of Pakistan. Wild and undiscovered, cultures the rest of the world might not imagine are found in these hills. Mystical and ancient. #mynovgetaway

This is the interior of arguably the most iconic building in the world- Burj Al ‘Arab. You’ve seen the photos and even the skyline from the other shore of the city, but have you seen inside? Everything was sparkling, somehow like being inside a space craft turned into a hotel, with it’s strangely shape pillars and structure. It was dazzling, befitting a space king and queen, certainly the service will treat you as such. #mynovgetaway

Staying in Qatar has many pleasant surprises! For instance, this view was just that for someone used to sleeping closer to the ground. The skyscrapers towering around looks so different from within than when it was just a distant view on the horizon, a jagged geometrical line. From here, the true depth and scale can be appreciated. #mynovgetaway

During my travels I attended a wedding at Burj Al Arab Dubai. Whatever fanciness there is to be experienced around the world, the Middle East puts a lot of pride and effort into their ability to surpass it. With the wealth of the nation it isn’t difficult either. It is this quality standard which attracts so many visitors, looking for a good time and knowing that this is the place to throw a party. #mynovgetaway

Continuing my #travelstories , but this is the 2020 edition. Day 6 of Chinese quarantine and this morning was the first time I have seen the sun. Chinese winters often get smoggy and my welcome back met the standard for everybody. I have 8 days left before I can board the train to my city, yet I have already stared out the window for longer than reasonable. The buildings here are often copy and pasted, lined up next to each other in droves. #staycation #mynovgetaway
