Tongwangcheng is Big Angkor. The first light reflects towering trees and fairly well-coordinated and spacious roads. Then there are statues with traces of the years, and tall and majestic gates with regret.
The last capital of the Khmer Empire, the "heart" of Angkor's monuments, had a population of millions at its peak. Tongwang City is square with a wall of 14 kilometers and surrounded by a moat up to 100 meters wide. From the south gate to the north to the center of Tongwang City, you can see the Barong Temple, the most magnificent and important building in the city. The top of its pagoda is the famous "Khmer's smile".
